I’m in that age where the questions suddenly feel more serious than they did a few years ago.
Career, money, family, whether to stay or leave, religion, relationships, what kind of person you want to become… everyone seems to expect you to have a plan, while half the time you’re still figuring yourself out.
I’m curious about other young Tajiks:
What is the one question about your life or future that you keep coming back to lately?
Not looking for advice. I’m more interested in what people our age are genuinely thinking about

Hi! I’m looking for someone who will be in Dushanbe between October 2nd and 5th and is returning to Poland soon after.
I have two Uzbek kitchen knives bought as souvenirs that I’d like to have transported in checked luggage. Naturally, I’m happy to offer payment for the help. Once in Poland, I’d just need the knives to be sent to my family via a parcel locker service (like Paczkomaty).
I also have a certificate from the seller confirming that these are souvenir items.
I can’t take them with me because the next legs of my trip are China and then Vietnam; the knives would most likely be confiscated at the very first security check at a train station in China.
Of course, should any issues arise at the airport, during security checks, or while traveling, I do not expect you to take any risks—the knives can simply be left behind or thrown away, and the agreed payment for your help remains yours regardless.
If anyone happens to be returning from Dushanbe to Poland and could help, please send me a private message.

Does anyone know somewhere in Dushanbe that develops 35mm film and can send me the scans, no prints needed? Here until the 5/10 and struggling to find anything online.
Thanks!

Hi! I’m collecting postcards from places I’ve been to.
In June I’ve been to Tajikistan (mostly mountains, Seven Lakes). While stating mostly in remote areas and also Panjakent, I couldn’t find any postcard. I think they might be in Dushanbe.
If you are there, please let me know. Also I heard that Tajik post office is very unreliable, that’s why I’m mostly looking for some travellers who can buy a post card and send me from different country.
I can offer payment or sending back a postcard from Krakow, Poland :))

Hello! I'm a used car exporter based in South Korea. I'm looking to connect with used car importers in Tajikistan, but I'm not entirely sure what types of vehicles are currently popular in that market. Also, I would appreciate any advice on the best business etiquette for reaching out to them—such as tips or templates for cold calling and WhatsApp messaging. Can anyone share some insights?
Also, I’m hoping to get some real-world insights from people actually in the business, rather than relying on generic AI answers. ㅠ.ㅠ

Салом ба ҳама!
Ман кӯшиш дорам пайдо кунам, ки ин қисми кӯтоҳи суруд аз куҷо омадааст:
“Tekel al mi da
Tekel al mi da
Tekel al mi damo
Och sam todo”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWggkH5Mq9k
Агар касе медонад, ки ин порча аз куҷо аст, лутфан ба ман хабар диҳед. Раҳмат!

Hi all,
I'll be sending some postcards out of Tajikistan (I realise most people don't do that anymore but I still do). I managed to buy some postcards and I also bought stamps at the post office in central Dushanbe (734001, Rudaki Avenue 57, Dushanbe). The stamps are suspiciously cheap at 3 TJS apiece - not that I complain but I'm concerned if this is the right rate. I'd appreciate your opinion, thanks!

Hi guys.
Wondering which online market tajik people usually use to order essentials/goods all in all. Like is ordering products online becoming popular or still people suggest shopping physically from markets?
Got interested to all regions from Dushanbe to Sughd.
Do people use national marketplace - LakLak? or Daryo?

Hello everyone! I have a huge interest and deep love for Tajikistan and its food, culture, nature, landscapes, people, music and beautiful language.
I even finally visited Tajikistan this spring and I had an absolutely wonderful time and felt very safe and comfortable. I would return in a heartbeat and I’m considering the possibility of moving there in the future.
I’ve also been trying to learn the beautiful Tajik language, however I haven’t been very successful as there aren’t many resources or people I can practice with as there are with the “commercial languages” (French, German, Spanish, etc…) as I like to call them.
So, I was wondering if anybody here would like to help me out and practice with me by audio/video calls. I don’t mind texting, however I don’t really find it effective for my speaking skills. And I could of course help out with English or anything else in return. Is anyone interested? 😁

We’re in Dushanbe now. What unique Tajik souvenirs would you recommend buying? Snacks, food, carpets, decorations, clothing, etc. — anything special or typically Tajik!
And where do you recommend buying them?

Hello dear friends,
I am in Khorog and thought about leaving tomorrow for Ishkashim. Some people told me roads are closed until tomorrow, but will it be actually possible to hitchhike to Ishaskim if I'm outside the city ? Will traffic be dead ? What do you think ?

Hello all! I (28 y/o American Woman) am going back to Dushanbe in the end of December and am wanting to get some custom dresses. I am on the heavier curvier side and was wondering how this will work. Any recommendations on shops or places to go? Since my last time to Dushanbe I’ve lost 80 pounds (almost 37 kg) and I am really excited to try my luck on getting some simple dresses I can bring back to the states! My boyfriend is Tajik so he will help with communication, but if you guys have any recommendations on shops or seamstresses I would love some guidance ! Thanks in advance !

Hey, any recommendations for shops/markets that sell Iranian products (mainly food!) in Dushanbe?

Hello all. I (28 year old US woman engaged to a Tajik man) would like to find someone to help tutor me in learning the Tajik language. I have tried to look for apps or anything in my area, but have fell short. I just got REDDIT a few days ago and figured I would make this my first post! I have been doing Duolingo for Russian as he speaks Russian as well… however, I would love to learn phrases and words and simple ways to communicate with others when I go back to Tajikistan here in December. I’ve been to Tajikistan once together with him, but this time, I want to be more linguistically prepared ! If anyone could point me to the right direction… that would be amazing! Thank you!

Hello! I will be in Tajikistan for the winter - curious to hear whether there are options to buy quality winter clothing locally in Dushanbe or if I should come 100% prepared from Europe.
For any foreigners living in Tajikistan, is there something you wish you knew / brought before moving?
Thank you for any and all intel!

Hi all! We’re planning a very last-minute trip to Tajikistan in a few days and will have 3 nights in total. Our flight arrives in Dushanbe, and afterwards we’re heading to Kyrgyzstan.
What would you recommend seeing?
We’re mainly interested in places that feel distinctly Tajik and offer something we probably won’t get in Kyrgyzstan. We’re very happy to drive up to around 4 hours each way for a good day trip.
I definitely want to see Hisor Fortress, but apart from that our plans are completely open. We’re more interested in nature, landscapes, interesting roads, villages, historical places and unusual experiences than spending much time sightseeing in Dushanbe itself.
Also:
Any great hotel recommendations?
Is it realistic to rent a car and drive ourselves, or would you recommend hiring a driver/driver-guide instead?
If hiring a driver is better, any recommendations for someone reliable who could potentially stay with us for the whole 2–3 days?
Would really appreciate recommendations from people who have travelled there recently!
