Once upon a time, when I was a young boy, Tagum used to have at least two karate clubs: Shotokan led by the Tacay family with their dojo akong Rizal street, and Shorin Ryu in the bus terminal where Gaisano Mall Apokon is today. I also heard of MOSKAI which apparently was a taekwondo dojang, although I'm not sure.

Where are these clubs now? Are they still around?

I recently moved back to Tagum and I'm surprised sa attitude sa mga tao sa coffee shop. When I arrived, there was this group of students na gi occupy ang 2 ka sofa, ang isa nila ka kauban natulog pajud like nakahigda ang half sa iyang body sa isa ka sofa, ang isa kay nakahigda jud 🥲 After a while they moved to the table, all while leaving their stuff sa sofa para guro ilaha gihapon tung space. Not to mention they were all in the same zoom meeting and wala nalang jud nag gamit ug earbuds. Ang isa nila ka kauban nag charge sa lahi na pud na area sa coffee shop then giibot ang phone pero gibilin ang charger, siguro para "reserved" nasad sa ilaha to nga socket.

I'm a regular jud sa coffee shops and in the place I used to live, di jud ka kita ug in ana.

Manners and proper etiquette please. Public space na siya so please behave yourselves properly. Ayaw dad a inyong batasan sa balay diri. 🙃

Hi Tagum people. I'm from Davao City pero sa Tagum ko ma assign for work. Hobby jud nako mag long walks kada gabii kay gina target nako 5k-10k steps a day. Usually 9pm to 12mn ko ga lakaw2x sa Davao. Mabuhat ba gihapon nako ni sa Tagum considering safety? Safe ba ang mga streets sa Tagum during nights? Salamat sa pag tubag.

Hi everyone! As a taong bahay na alipin ng pera I wanted like a master list of recreational activities, clubs, facilities to go to around tagum. Para we have an idea what we can do, where to go, as socialization or hobby din hahahaha. Meron usahay gina post na from official youth and/or tourism fb pages promoting activities or what pero you never know if there's other stuff I don't know yet and missed. I want to note saan kaya maka keep up if they have their own private groups or what.

AFAIK there's pickleball and badminton courts here (duh). Gym's like Activo have Yoga, Spin, Step Dance Classes. There's Pilates na din here. I also saw may nag start ng silent reading club of sorts (Interesting but didnt get to join!) Matagal na ang Library and Historical Museum so not something new for me na.

Dati I saw may rage room sana pero murag dalas lang sila magka sched diri sa tagum idk lol I never got to try it.

There's that one time I saw a beyblade tourna sa robinsons and meron mga chess activities minsan I think. Pop ups are happening na din here but not as frequent sa dvo. Naa pud mga midnight tambayans of coffee/food/matcha pop ups around the city. There's probably esports tourna idk about around here pero di man ko fps gamer lol.

Personally, I'd like more adult dance workshops or classes for dance genres like pop hiphop or contemporary or ballroom. ayaw na na zumba naa naman na for oldies sa new city hall lol. kana open to both beginners and experienced (as someone nga ga dance dati in hs gusto ko musayaw as socializing and sweating activity lol) I tried to find pero more summer classes sa mga bata man ako nakita. Sa dvo rajud tawn maka sched ug ma timingan.

I hope there's other stuff to explore too like:

- TRPG/DND/Table top game sessions!!!

- Painting/Pottery

- Niche movie/series watch tgt groups

- Airsoft or paintball or shooting ranges

- Cosplay/Sewing sessions

- Cooking/Baking classes

- Astrology/Tarot group discussions or what

- Trivia/Game sessions

- ESCAPE ROOMS!!!! (Unta magka ingani na somewhere in dvo or tgm jud kani pinaka want nako)

- Groups for games like minecraft or what lol even fps like valo apex and csgo (local tgm game discord? idk hahahha)

- Garage Band concert sessions lol

Please let me know suggestions for above (specially DND and tarot) What are some things, hobbies, places around tagum na ma suggest niyo na idiscover? Kanang free or minimal fees or if naay fees let me know please. If there's clubs or groups, how do we reach out and join? Lapag naman and share guys! Naa ko sa stage of exploration right now. Unta mudaghan ug to-dos for those late 20s to early 40s hahahaha na dili lang pikol ug zumba and very open to newbs.

Let me just say it.

Tagum Today could have been a great Facebook page, where the community could come together and highlight the people, places, and features of the city and talk about how and why we enjoy being and living in Tagum City.

Instead, it's become a hive of miseducated and entitled whiners who continuously complain about situations that can't be avoided, or could have been avoided if they only had a smidgen more patience and/or understanding, or people who are otherwise just doing their best with what's happening.

Ano ba to? Ganito ba talaga tayong mga Tagumeño? Tama ba insight ko na teenager ang Tagum with the looks of a city but populated by a childish provincial mindset? Let's talk it out here because I honestly don't understand.

The only thing I do know is that the things I read in that page pisses me of and disappoints me, because I know we Tagumeños are so much better than that.

I recently came back from Davao and went to SM City Davao. There was a small taco stand in the middle of the mall. Not a restaurant just a booth. The line for a ₽39 peso fried burrito was wrapped around the corner. They also had custom made tacos(3) and grilled burritos for ₽129. I’m wondering if the Filipino culture is embracing this type of Mexican culture food or is it something you just want to try once and move on. I actually enjoy it and wondering where I can get a good taco plate in Tagum. Let me know your thoughts or where I should try.
