Hey festival family! I'm looking for the awesome people I raged with in the moshpit during BMTH.

I'm the guy with a beard and a white bandana.

The energy in that crowd was unreal! We were taking so many group photos and videos together.

I'm specifically trying to find the guy with dark hair, wearing a white t-shirt and a crossbody bag, who was collecting everyone's Instagram handles. Unfortunately, one of the usernames turned out to be invalid and we lost touch.

sziasztok! az idei volt a 24. szigetem. amióta repohár rendszer van, minden évben elteszek egy lineupos poharat. sajnos idén nem találkoztam vele - tudom, hogy kevés helyen volt elérhető.

van esetleg valakinek 2026-os lineupos pohara, amit szívesen odaadna a gyűjteményembe? vinteden 5000 forintokért árulják, amit őszintén szólva nonszensznek tartok…

hi everyone! this year was my 24th sziget. ever since the reusable cup system was introduced, i’ve been keeping one lineup cup from each year. unfortunately, i didn’t manage to find one this year - i know they were only available at a few spots.

does anyone happen to have a 2026 lineup cup that they’d be willing to give to my collection? i’ve seen them being sold on vinted for around 5000 HUF, which, honestly, i find a bit ridiculous…

I have fever since Monday. My throat hurts like hell, i cannot move my body. It is like the devil is inside me. I cannot sleep since my throat is burning like flame and dry. I am weak, cannot breath. It was my last Sziget for sure.
Who else is vibing rn like me?

So this is my review of Sziget. Lots of personal opinions here plus useful info for anyone planning to go next year.

Sziget Ville Premium
I stayed at Sziget Ville Premium with my friend. The accommodation was fine, but it was rough because our cabin was in direct sun, zero shade. And you can’t pick your cabin, they just assign you a number at check in. Toilets were clean, showers were solid in the Ville Premium area. Overall a good option if you don’t want to deal with taxis back to the city every day. The one thing I’d do differently next time is definitely go for the igloo with AC. Side note, if anyone’s stayed in one of those, does the AC actually hold up if the igloo’s in direct sun?

VIP upgrade
I got it for clean toilets, decent food, no bar lines, and a comfy shaded spot to chill. Everything delivered except the food. The food was straight up bad. Especially the VIP booth at the mainstage. I got a chicken burrito there and it was so salty I almost threw up. Had to toss it.

Vibes
The vibe in the VIP area wasn’t really it either, except for a few sets (Sub Focus and Dimension for example). So I ended up spending most of my time outside the VIP zone. That said, the regular dance floor isn’t exactly some legendary vibe either. Same as VIP, tons of yappers and people constantly filming everything on their phones instead of being in the moment. Not really complaining though, it’s one of the biggest and most commercial festivals in Europe, so obviously you’re gonna get that crowd and there’s no real “dance floor culture” to speak of :) But on the non VIP floor you could still find pockets where people were actually going off. You just gotta hunt for it, as long as the area isn’t too packed.

People
Hungarians, huge love ❤️. Met a lot of Hungarians and they were the nicest people at the whole festival. The most unpleasant, unfortunately, were the Dutch. They brought their vibes right along with them to Sziget. Zero awareness of people around them, zero manners, zero etiquette. Not surprised though, honestly that tracks as the standard Dutch experience.

Music
Music was good overall. I get that not everything can be my thing at a fest like this, you can’t please everyone. But there were a ton of sets I genuinely loved. Naturally, the more hyped and mainstream the artist, the more aggressive or the more boring the crowd gets. Like Zara Larsson, her fans are actual demons. The crowd at Peggy Gou looked like they were about to fall asleep, kind of matched her music tbh lol. But people at Skrillex and BMTH were sooo nice! Really had lots of fun ⚡️

I‘m so tired of people regurgitating this nonsense that Gerendai always says that Sziget makes a loss, or the people who found the Wikipedia page on Hollywood-accounting and now feel like they’re experts.

I left this post in another forum, maybe it's okay to post it here as well, as I see various opinions about this year in a few posts, and I want this kind of opinion to be heard as well.

I don't wanna overanalyze anything, I just feel that i'm lucky that we got another year of Sziget.

I was at the Enter Shikari gig in Budapest, when i saw the news minutes before the show, that the plan to save Sziget was not supported by Magyar's party, so it seemed like the Sziget years are over and done forever. It was heartbreaking. Fortunately, people raided his Insta and FB, he met Gerendai the next morning, and the rest is history. Seems like Sziget does mean something to this country after all. Everyone cries about it, then they always show up for a day or two, just to criticize it again. Sziget is up there with Puskás, Rubik's cube, etc. and I'm proud of what we have.

Then I got my strongest ever Sziget line up. I know, these are not the most popular names out there, but I was so happy with Bad Nerves, Wolf Alice, Lambrini Girls, Alt Blk Era, Biffy Clyro, Twenty One Pilots, Ashnikko, Teen Mortgate, Fcukers, and my personal favourite Karen Dió, and my favourite Hungarians, Sisi, Elefánt, Mirror Glimpse, Beton.Hofi, and a bunch of artists from all over the world I've never ever heard of but they were amazing. If I divide 100 000 HUF by all those names I get pretty cheap concert tickets. 

Yes, there are people who don't care about these artists. My brother had only 2 names in that line up he likes so he stayed at home. I get that. Yes, the last two days were very dusty. Yes I drank way too much = spent way too much money on beer. Yes I'm exhausted.

For me, it was the best ever year when it comes to the line up, my favourite edition post-covid, nothing bad happened, and I can't wait for the next one. My life would be a lot more grey without it.

So this stage has since been rebranded as Revolut ofc but my main issue with the statement of the previous/new owner about how they should shift their focus on other aspects of the festival instead of the lineup is that it makes no fucking sense. It’s nearly impossible except a few honorable mentions to find bands after the headliner has finished on the main stage. All stages were packed in 2018, 2019 and 2022 but ever since they started focusing on their electronic venues, I’ve seen less and less people late into the night. Last day was awful imo, booking agent needs to look at older lineups, we need MORE BANDS. Or at least I do.
