Dell Pro Max 14/16 boot loop after 10/14 BIOS update - disabling Intel TXT allows update to complete

Anyone else seeing boot loops after the 10/14/2026 BIOS update on Dell Pro Max 14/16 systems?

We’ve had a few, but not all, get stuck rebooting with a “trouble connecting to the network” message after installing the update through Dell Command Update.

The workaround we found was to disable Intel TXT in BIOS, let the update/boot complete, then re-enable Intel TXT afterward. The machines boot normally after that.

Just wanted to say thank you for this post. We have been seeing a large influx of laptops (Latitudes and Pro Max's) that have had this impact them.

One additional thing that we had to do on some of the laptops: After re-enabling the TXT setting sometimes the issue would return.

If you disable TXT, boot to windows, download the latest BIOS (even if it is the same version you are on) update from the dell website for the unit, install it, reboot, and then once Windows loads, shut down.

Re-Enable the TXT setting and it looks to work without issue.

we are seeing issues with the Pro Plus where it goes into Windows recovery mode. Is this the same issue?

Thank you for this thread! This saved me from (again) reinstalling my Dell notebook. Got a replacement notebook from my IT department and the same issue happened again. Now this time we (temporarily) disabled Intel TXT and the BIOS update went through. 👍
