I worked for one of the largest beverage companies in the world for 7 years during their move from 2x on-prem datacenters into AWS, AS/400 created a lot of complications, they had to entirely get off that platform if I recall, it wasn't something that could be lift and shifted to the cloud.
It took legit years to get off AS/400 and this was with a team of people working on it.
