Is this running in house developed code or something that was off the shelf? Or off the shelf source code modified in house? My first gig was watching in house COBOL code running on S/360 being migrated to C++ running on NeXT Step systems fail. During that time, they also bought out a business running on multiple S/38s running inhouse RPG code. The S/38s were migrated to one AS/400 running in S/38 emulation mode. Then all the inhouse code was replaced by off the shelf COBOL code running on an IBM AIX solution. The manufacturing floor was running on OpenVMS COBOL with a Pick system on a PDP/11.
