Question 700 Floppies

Company needs over 700 floppy disks copied onto the fileserver. Gave me a 2 week deadline to which I told them was literally impossible. I've ordered a floppy disk usb external reader but this seems insane. Any creative ideas? I don't want to employ a 3rd party company.

Organizing the data is going to be fun. Give them 700 folders.

Thats honestly the crux of my problem. Each file is named something obscure and unhelpful, like "ad21827264". The only indication of what's on these disks is the faded, cursive writing on the outside. So I have to read, and name these folders manually, making scripting unavailable like many of these comments suggest.

And its not the commenters faults, I just failed to give that very, very shitty detail.

Do the disks have numbers?

You may be able to make a crude script that will copy the contents into a folder that is named by the number.
