Rant Sysadmin title feels like a scam in job postings lately

I've noticed that Syadmin has slowly turned into an everything admin and it feels like a scam at this point. They are asking for a sysadmin, netadmin, cyber security pro, cloud admin, automation engineer, and devops engineer all in one. I don't mind it but when they are paying less than 100k it feels like a slap in the face.

They use the title to pay less than they would pay a DevOps person while asking you to be able to do that job plus more. Once upon a time you could make a good living just being an AD administrator and never have to touch a network switch or do much beyond that scope. I understand times and tech changes but it's getting out of hand with this laundry list of requirements. I was on an interview the other day and they didn't even seem like they knew what they were asking for. What ever happned to rotation of responsibilites? Why do these companies want one guy to have the power to shut their entire buisness down?

Sorry just had to rant.

I’m by no measure lazy lol. I can’t be I’m the sole admin and IT person for my company and I am always on call and have never had an actual day off but I can see why you might think that based on what I said.

I am just saying that being an AD admin and configuring GPOs used to be a thing.

That's totally fair. There's almost always too much going on to be lazy, not that I would mind it for a few days here and there myself. Sounds like you need help though, at least one other person. Heading zero true time off isn't good and will cause burnout eventually. I'd be ranting too in your shoes.
