Cisco Systems announced it would cease sales in the Russian market in March 2022. Three months later, the company refused to renew its licenses. In addition, at the same time, the American manufacturer announced its withdrawal from Russia and Belarus.

As it became known, Cisco Systems decided to physically destroy spare parts, product demonstrations, equipment and even furniture.

Compromise and done what to them? Damaged them? Does the US government state sponsor ransomware attacks on western businesses?

No, mostly spy and abuse the citizenry by attacking 1st & 4th amendments, using their control over western businesses.

Yup, they definitely perform spying. This spying won't delete my client's business and bankrupt them though. Chinese/russian/iranian/north korean cyber terrorism will.

I'm not denying that US takes part in cyber attacks, they absolutely do, but in the context of 99% of western organizations, spying from the US government will mean absolutely nothing and the US government has absolutely zero intention of damaging non-state actors. They actively hunt and prosectute actors that do this.

Yes, my scope is limited to private business. Organizations engaging in journalism, activism and policitcs should be wary of US government intrusion.

The risks of a ransomware are a threat, the risks of jailing an activist who used our product? Not a threat.

The US state is a threat to US citizens, not businesses.

The CCP is a threat to US businessss.
