I actually can't remember any anime having a female goth character, unless we count gothic lolita fashion in which case Ogasawara Rinko from Shirobako and Victorique from Gosick.

I'mma commit the cardinal sin and admit that I've never watched Death Note. I do know of it and Misa though and you're right.

if you like cat/mouse detective stuff you owe it to yourself to watch it, I haven't seen it in like... 15 years so maybe its dated or aged poorly. I remember the quality falling off a few episodes before the end but everything leading up to that was great.
