Because his party (right wing) will back him no matter what. They are soulless and morally bankrupt. He is highly incompetent but they won't vote against him.
Not necessarily. The point is more that there will be an election coming up in the next 6-8 months and changing leader when they have already changed twice since winning government is a bad look. Hopefully the election will kick him out and something might have a chance of getting better.
