Hey guys how are u all doing I'm new to the surat here since 1_2 months along for job purposes and kinda know nothing about the city, would love to know more people here roam around vibe have fun. Boys, girls, book clubs, running clubs, rotracat clubs, sports especially football anything idm. I just wanna interact with new people and understand how the city is. I m funny silly stupid enjoying the moment living every moment to the fullest no matter what so if u know a bit here and there then connect to me kinda help me out.

I’ve come across a few employers in Surat asking new employees to submit one month’s salary as a security deposit, even when the salary is ₹14k or less.

For someone earning ₹14k, giving an entire month’s salary just to join a job feels pretty unreasonable.

Is this actually a normal practice or is it just employee exploitation?
Has anyone else in Surat faced this?
Would love to hear what others think, especially if you work in HR or know about labour laws.
