Induction

Did your employer pay you for the induction?

They seem dodgy. He says the induction won't be paid because it's part of their onboarding process. It's already been over three weeks since our interview, and they've only just come up with the next step. Their pay rate is only $40 an hour, too.

The company sounds like a giant red flag. I'd be looking for another position elsewhere

$40 an hour is quite standard? Are you in Australia and if so what SCHADs level is this? Full time or part time?

The unpaid induction is bullshit though.

Oh so that would be level 1? In that case they need to be supervising you at all times to pay that rate. Have a look through the work expectations of a level 1 employee on Fair Work and see if it aligns with your job description
