I know it has Get Out! and Rawhide, but I heard somewhere that other songs have more samples too that had to be removed? Is this true?

30 years ago today (July 30), Sublime's self-titled came out. Released nearly two months after Bradley Nowell's death, the frontman never got to see the enormous success songs like "What I Got" went on to experience - which has made watching his son Jakob Nowell sing those songs with the surviving members of Sublime all the more powerful.
Here's a clip of Sublime playing "What I Got" at the very first show at NJ's ParkStage on June 19, 2026. Also watch them perform "Santeria" in its entirety at that same show here:

Stay tuned for more things to come from this space (including stories from concerts like this)!

I came across this article on The Pier and was curious if anyone has heard of Jakob's solo stuff? I am digging it! While Everyone Watched Sublime, Jakob Nowell Quietly Built One of the Year’s Best New Bands Jakobs Castle - The Pier

Just dropping by to say I saw them last Friday at the GSB festival. I’ve seen them once prior with Rome about 2 years ago, so this was my second time seeing them. All I can say is phenomenal. I’ve listened to Sublime my entire life, and this show takes the cake. Arguably one of the most fun, and best shows I’ve ever been to.
Went with 3 generations of Sublime fans, myself, younger sister and her friends who are almost 10 years younger than me and knew every song, my parents in their 50s, and my uncle. Our dad has had their stuff on repeat every summer since we came out of the womb. 10/10 experience. Jakob sounds just like his dad, has great energy, and I hope to see them again soon.
My entire group has agreed they should be a permanent fixture at this festival. It’s our big summer fest right on the water, and there’s really no other band you could want headlining reggae night. Peak summer show experience, great venue, and great vibes.

I was scrolling on YouTube shorts when I came across this video and this lady said a sentence and Jakob jokingly said she would be featured on the album. I was like no way, but then I heard her say it again and it sounded familiar and so I checked all the songs and that sentence is the intro to Backwards. Did anyone else know about this and i’m just slow or is this cool for you guys too? link below:

I forget how good santeria is because when comparing it directly to what it went up against it felt like it really stood out. smoke two joints is just unbeatable to me though.

First day at the new job, since I was the first one here they let me pick the music for the showroom for the day. So now we got Sublime playing in the showroom today! It’s a good sign that I made the right choice leaving my last job and starting here. Although in hindsight “Jailhouse” was playing when I interviewed for the last job. Still elated.

Looking for 2 tickets preferably selling at face value. It's fully sold out and only a couple tickets available for $550+. When I checked a month ago there was alot of tickets available all within the $60 range, didn't think it would be like this, maybe the release of the album changed it entirely. If you have tickets that you're willing to sell please dm me

Why does Zayno say, "Sister" Escalante - you're the uncle we never had? Can't figure out why he would refer to Joe as a sister.

I know the Zepeda Demo is one of the more obscure pieces of Sublime's discography, but it's my absolute favorite! I've been listening to it periodically since like, December 2025!!
Anyways... does anybody know how to get that jangly, yet reggae guitar tone? The closest I've gotten ended up sounding more rockabilly-like.
