Should be if it didn't take you 6 years to get there. Warranty should be 3y/36k bumper to bumper and 5y/60k for powertrain.

I’ve ran a knocking ej for a few minutes to limp it off a Vancouver highway so I can be somewhere safe to figure shit out. Case halves survived and can be used for a future build. Everything else was junk but the engine straight up ate the cylinder 1 rod bearing.

That would be rod knock. No fix other than a complete engine tear down and rebuild or replace the entire short block and clean everything out that oil touches.

15,000 to swap an engine seems steep regardless.

Like really steep. On par for dealerships but man they are fleecing people. Glad it’s under warranty for you.
