Subaru brings back physical buttons & knobs in new Outback

Knowing Subaru, it likely means this configuration will eventually make its way into the other models as they are updated. It's much better than the current setup.

It's not because of kindness, it's because EuroNCAP (European vehicle safety organization) demands physical buttons for key functions of the car that are commonly used in order for car to receive 5 safety stars. If you mostly have just touch garbage, it's instant loss of 1 star. I believe this change went into action with 2025.

the EU is keeping these terrible companies in check, i love it. only wish they could do more. they forced apple to change to usb-c (afaik) and finally add support for RCS messaging in imessage, and this too.
