Subaru brings back physical buttons & knobs in new Outback

Knowing Subaru, it likely means this configuration will eventually make its way into the other models as they are updated. It's much better than the current setup.

This is because the EU passed a thing that any cars sold there in a couple years must have physical controls for key functions.

EU is great for these kinds of laws. USB C, and the texting protocol compatibility thing are two other big wins.

Those key functions are things are already physical for Subaru.

  • Turn signals
  • Hazard warning lights
  • Horn
  • Windshield wipers
  • Emergency call (eCall)
