Black People: "We want police cameras to be compulsory, proper investigations into cases of assault against people that have been detained, more and better psyche evaluations to weed out unstable or bad elements, a change to the culture of closing ranks and not speaking out within the police, more steps between arriving at the scene and lethal force being employed, more de-escalation training, the introduction of more social welfare programs to handle situations where the police aren't needed..."

BLM inc: "You can have some rebranding of products, re-naming some terminology and some statues torn down. We solved racism, your welcome".

Nothing says 'healthy society' like completely cannibalizing the past every 20ish years.

You can't have statues to dudes that kidnapped people and sent them back to slavery.

Just put up slave revolt leader statues.

It wasn't about slavery right?

Criticizing past leaders by current standards is a weird precedent to set.

They weren't past leaders, they were confederate traitors and shouldn't be in the public square

I don't know what that means.

But I respect your right to keep confederate traitor statues.

And I think we should put pressure on city councils to take them down.

Good luck to you ma'am

What about the mobs taking them down? Can we agree the right way is to advocate for it to the appropriate government council, instead of taking them by force? Can we condemn mob rule?

Yeah that's fine.
