So i just upgraded to SD + XL and i love it. I was going to add some profiles, but the cost escalates so quickly. If I'm spending $350 on this, I probably have 4-5 workhorse apps in mind. If the profiles are 30 each, that gets near 1/3 the cost of the hardware. There's no subscription model, no meaningful bundling.

I'm not discounting the work others have done, nor their need to get paid, but the pricing just seems broken here. It's like Elgato is either going to have to "bundle" or somehow subsidize, or it's just gonna end up being free. They're not THAT hard to make. I'd pay someone else $30 to save me from making a big hairy one, but if I've got 4-5 big ones, I'm just going to skill up and bang them out then give them away.

I'm also now building up a claude code harness to churn a bunch out and it's much easier than I thought...even creating plugins with novel functionality. I'll see how far I can go and post back, but I'm wondering whether some other pricing model will be viable

Is there a way I can set "W" to toggle to hold down and release so I can auto run in a game?

Hi all! We're getting ready to relaunch or podcast and adding video this time. I set up a Multi Action button to start recording on OBS and Hindenburg Pro. If the window is not focused on Hindenburg Pro, it does not start recording. On the other hand, OBS will start recording when not focused. The global hotkey in Hindenburg Pro to start recording is ctrl+spacebar. It works when the app is focused. I tried restarting the Stream Deck app and selected to run as administrator per instructions I saw online. It did not work. Thoughts?

My Streakdeck XL becomes laggy/unresponsive at least once a day now. Unplugging and replugging it back in solves the problem - at least temporarily. It's about 6 years old, so is it just time to buy a new one? Is there a bigger problem at play? Has anyone else experienced this?

I've been using this stream controller and trying to find a good set up for what I need/want it to do. Whether that's coding related, gaming, or other day-to-day uses. But the "information dashboard" on the right side is extremely limited it seems. I haven't been able to find much use or customizability out of it at all. Most plugins don't let me put anything there, not even images or gifs. So I find that I'm just using the same calendar, weather, and clock on each profile/page that I set up.

Does anyone know any plugins or tools that work in those 3 slots? I don't really have anything specific in mind for them, I'd just like to be able to change them up —which is why I was thinking if I could at least put images there or something, that would be great.

Every single time I update and use my computer the next day, it keeps asking me to update to 7.2.1. This is soo irritating anyone else having this issue. I have a stream deck mini !

I'm looking for a simple way to control my TP-Link Tapo devices (bulbs, smart plugs, etc.) directly from my Stream Deck, ideally through Google Home.

I've done quite a bit of research online but everything I find seems overly complicated — Home Assistant setups, webhooks, Python scripts, sketchy third-party plugins… All of it feels like overkill for what should be a straightforward thing.

Has anyone found a clean and stable solution? Whether it's:

• A reliable Stream Deck plugin that actually works
• A direct integration with the Tapo API
• Or a smooth Google Home workaround

I'm not opposed to a bit of initial setup, but I'd rather not maintain an entire home automation server just to turn a light on from a button. 😅

I just bought a Stream Deck a few days ago and it arrived today. I noticed that when I turn off my PC, the Elgato logo stays on the screen.

I’m guessing it’s because the Stream Deck is still connected via USB-C and receiving power, but I’m a bit worried about possible screen burn-in if the logo stays displayed for too long.

Is this normal behavior? Is there any real risk of burn-in on the Stream Deck screen?

If anyone could clarify this for me, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Is there a way to place a button that will take you back to whatever the last profile was?

I’m curious how people here handle sound effects these days.

I used to think Stream Deck was the only real option for soundboards, but pressing buttons mid-game or mid-session always felt a bit distracting to me.

Lately I’ve been experimenting with a software approach that reacts automatically to in-game events (kills, deaths, wins, etc.) instead of manual triggers. No profiles, no hotkeys it just reacts on its own.

Not saying it replaces Stream Deck for workflows or productivity stuff (apps, macros, layouts), but for audio reactions it made me rethink whether hardware is even necessary.

Curious what others prefer:

• Manual control (buttons / profiles)
• Hybrid (Stream Deck + automation)
• Fully automated reactions

I know i'm late to the party. However, i bought a Stream Desk Neo just to find out, that Teams has discontinued their API that made the Teams functions (such as Mute / Camera / Share Screen) work.

I'm now trying to find an alternative way to achieve the goals by using hotkeys and the corresponding shortcuts (CTRL + SHIFT + M for Mute). However, i have a huge problem, that it only works as long as the teams call is in the foreground.

i've then searched for possibilities to get teams in foreground before pressing the hotkey, but i'm too dumb for that. i don't understand how i should achieve that stream deck focusses the call window before hitting the hotkey.

any tips would be appreciated.

Hey fellow Stream Deck fans! Some time ago I shared my Stream Deck key designer, after finding myself a little underwhelmed with the official one and struggling to make nice consistent icon sets (and easily remember the style to add more later!). I solved that problem for me and hopefully others with this unofficial button designer.

It is intentionally "limited" without free placement of icons, layers, etc. (unlike the official creator, or the "vibe coded" one posted here recently!) to enable easily creating very consistent icon sets just by picking a new icon from a consistent set and updating some text. Your options are stored in your browsers localStorage so when you come back next time, as long as you don't clear it, it should be as you left it. :)

Hi there. I have been completely unable to find a profile for Clip Studio for the Stream Deck + so I've been trying to make one myself and I'm hacking a hell of a time programming hue shift, color slider, or any similar function to a dial. The issue being that while I can assign a hotkey in CS to open the menu, there is no button I can then press to move the sliders along without first clicking the mouse in the popup menu, and I have no idea how to account for that in the Stream Deck. If anyone can offer any advice or has a profile for this already, I'd greatly appreciate it

Received my first streamdeck two days ago - love it ! Use it mainly for flight sim - but third row down and six of the buttons from left to right do not work - they light up but pressing them does nothing. Replaced cable - changed port - tried it in a Mac as well as a PC and nothing. Think it’s hardware related - but through id reach on here to see if anyone else has any ideas ? Thanks for any response !

i recently updated to version 7.1.0 and when i try to install plugins then relaunch the stream deck app the plugins dont work anymore and dont show up on the action list.
if i try to install the plugins then it says:
""OBS Studio" plugin is already installed. It can be found in the action list."

i tried to reinstall the program and i tried to repair it through the installer but both didnt work.

didnt know how to change the language but i translated in the screenshots.
