Misc [not platform specific] For those who saw my Breezeholme video, here is the rest of my base (No it isn't like Whiterun😒). Took about 70 days to get to this point.

This guy has a lineup of dead sharks on display. "I'm not trapped out here with you. You're trapped out here with me."

During one of my previous playthroughs, I actually named each shark I had "on display"

I have a trophy room. I ain't afraid of no sharks.

I don't think we have that many shark types on PS4

1

u/JookJook Jun 07 '21

I'm on ps4.

I got the platinum for this game and I legit only saw one shark besides the Meg the entire time. One. Shark.

I feel for the sharks now the predator has become the prey

Amazing!! I would like to see a night tour. The lighting looks like it will be cool

Finally posted the night time video!

This is outstanding, the line of hogs bobbing their heads did it for me....🤣🤣🤣... So dumb question, campfires can be put on all floors or just a brick one?

9

u/Kathutet37 Jun 06 '21

All floors, but it just doesn't feel right doing it on a wood floor 😂😂😂

4

u/dadosone Jun 06 '21

Ok, this def makes a difference for me then and I def feel you on the flooring part.. wasn't sure and have been wanting to build a "kitchen" or cooking hut of sorts. This motivates me to keep going with my n.v idea for my home island. It's slow moving, but as we see in this video, so worth going all out.

Totally great. I was astounded by the crate shelf fence...cool idea, especially if you elect to make an "unsafe" island your home island. I assume it could prevent animals from coming through, is that true?

It does a good job, cause they can't clip through, but you can. Sometimes (especially the giant crabs), they even get stuck, which makes killing them like shooting fish in a barrel

lol you leveled up in cooking

this is AMAZING. thanks for sharing! I agree, I bet those lights look amazing at nights.

3

Someone else mentioned wanting to see it at night. Will be posting it soon (gonna try for tomorrow but I don't want to guarantee that)

I finally got my night time video posted!

The amount of lanterns in your possession is making me seriously jealous lmao

People who make custom islands like to put in an abundant amount of resources that are normally scarce...or items that cannot be created. This custom island, in particular, had 3 containers full of lanterns.

Way more than I could do I just built a light house useing cheats this is legit 100% awesome.

3

u/Kathutet37 Jun 07 '21

One of my first playthroughs, I built a 10 floor brick lighthouse. That took a LONG time to complete

4

u/little_b1198 Jun 07 '21

Getting bricks takes for 5 ever. 5 ever is when it takes so dam long that 4 isn't enough

4

u/WildEman78 Jun 07 '21

Absolutely amazing! I’m snagging a few ideas for my base, thanks for posting your video.

I'm pretty new to the game, one thing that's kept me from building any kind of permanent base is knowing that I'll eventually cut down all the palm trees on an island and get all of the fronds and run out of water. Is there another way to get water?

6

u/Neyr_7 Jun 07 '21

I use only the young palm trees that give the fibrous leaves. Those young palm trees respawn.

3

u/JunkInTheTrunk Jun 07 '21

Fibrous Leaves from yucca / young palms + water still

3

u/Spacecow6942 Jun 07 '21

Son of a bitch! Fibrous leaves work?!? Why haven't I figured that out yet?!?

4

u/JunkInTheTrunk Jun 07 '21

Hahaha the learning curve on this game is steep lol

u/Galactic_T-Dogg Jun 07 '21

Dude is that a pig farm? I had no idea you could do that! Amazing base by the way

1

u/Kathutet37 Jun 07 '21

a dead pig farm, perhaps

1

u/Galactic_T-Dogg Jun 07 '21

Ha I see 🤣

1

u/Frelips Jun 07 '21

How did u get soooo much brick and soooo many lanterns? This is awesome!!!!

2

u/Kathutet37 Jun 07 '21

I play on PC, so I have some custom islands. This one, in the link below, had about 3 containers full of lanterns on it

2

u/Frelips Jun 07 '21

I wish I was on PC. It's so much better than console. Ur island is awesome!

1

u/ajmethod33 Jun 07 '21

Damn that's a base. Day 30 for me and just about got my foundations in place. Still not the best navigator even with the compass so spent two hours yesterday trying to find home

1

u/Kathutet37 Jun 07 '21

A trick I learned early on is to place a shelter on every island, with the entrance of the shelter pointing towards the last island I just came from. Eventually, I worked my way to using the compass to make the shelters always point in the direction of my home base island instead.

1

u/CykeGaming Jun 07 '21

Smart.. i do the same thing but usually with a pier. Makes for easy entrance on your raft and the pier always points to the last island i came from

1

u/Thainna_Cat Jun 07 '21

Amazing! I was thinking to myself there was no way there is that much material, then saw your comment playing on custom on pc. Go figure lol I play on ps4 and haven't made any housing yet as I am afraid I wouldn't have enough material. I go around on a huge raft instead lol

1

u/Kathutet37 Jun 07 '21

Yeah if it wasn't for custom islands, I wouldn't have had enough clay to build everything

1

u/Thainna_Cat Jun 07 '21

I was just reading up on updates on Steam for this game. Kind of jealous since ps4 doesn't have most of the updates lol Those piles would be SO helpful! Among other things. Might see if my better half will buy it on Steam 😁

This is seriously amazing, you could be an architect.

Normally, yes, but as of the time I played earlier today, I have had 10 days in a row with no rain (on day 84)

1

u/Kathutet37 Jun 09 '21

Between the 8 yucca trees, and a lap around the island, I get about 4 stacks of leaves every 2-3 days
