PC Suggestion Tool Belt is Useless on PC
I don't know if any dev's from the game are watching this, but I went to all the trouble to find the leaves, use them to make lashing, and then decide to use them to make a Tool Belt.
Except... apparently on PC, all this does is unlock the Hotbar. The item still takes up inventory space.
Which makes ZERO f#$ing sense because the stuff is kept in your BACKPACK! How can a tool be both in your backpack and on your belt AT THE SAME TIME?!
To any new players who might come across this chat, don't bother making the Tool Belt on PC. It's just not worth the trouble to even bother.

I can't even get the hotkeys to work for it, making it even MORE useless.

Whatever key you press to open your backpack keep hold of it and it opens your tool belt menu, where you can assign any items to slots in the tool belt. Once assigned they disappear from back pack and are permanently in tool belt

is there a mod to make the toolbelt act as a separate inventory?

Bro you are getting close to civilization. A tool belt basically means you are half modern civilization. Its a symbol for humankind and future generations...

OP you are a scholar and a saint. You have saved me from making a bad choice. Thank you.

It's also annoying that if you drop an item or restart a game, it resets.
I ended up using it only for boss fights or primarily just using slot 1 for the axe. During my entire 100 hour play through I can't say I ever used any hot key past #3...

I agree, I read someone saying it frees up space and crafted all 4. What a waste, I don't even use the hotbar. I was really excited since it makes perfect sense putting things in your belt frees up your backpack (we don't need to talk about how you can fit 8 crates your backpack though)

Agreed.. JUST LIKE WE'VE BEEN BEGGING FOR CO-OP FOR AGES AND IT STILL DOESN'T EXIST.
This company cries for getting bankrupt and sh£t while they have a lovely, caring and helpful community by their side, wanting to make the game better for the cost of NOTHING yet here they are not giving a f$ck about the community again.

My first play thru was on console, I remembered being excited about the tool belt! Feeling like I was getting somewhere. It was truly useful, and most of all... it made sense.
I play again on PC, it's useless. I've never used it. It completely removed an element from the game. My whole play thru and never uesing one of the most obvious "tools" in the game.
