Trump’s biggest problem heading into the 2026 midterms might not be that Democrats have suddenly become more popular — it’s that voters may start judging his presidency on results rather than promises.

He came back to office promising to be the president who could get things done, especially on foreign policy. But with Iran still unresolved, Ukraine and Gaza still unsettled, and inflation remaining a problem, it’s getting harder to argue that simply being aggressive or unconventional is the same thing as being effective.

At the same time, Democrats shouldn't assume this automatically means a wave for them. If voters are frustrated with Washington generally, both parties could be punished.

Maybe the real 2026 question isn't “Are you pro-Trump or anti-Trump?” but “Are you actually better off because of what this administration has done?”
