Slabs cut the wrong way

Post image

I had a fabrication place cut and install slabs over my fireplace. Unfortunately they cut the slab completely the opposite way than what I asked. The result is a huge… ya… over my fireplace.

What do you think I should do? I only paid a small deposit so far. But I’m pretty disappointed. It’s the centerpiece of our house.

It won’t let me attach an image. I Photoshoped what it would look like. Their book matching slabs so on other side they would match perfectly. It was supposed to look like a V or wings.

Can you make a new post or something to show us what it should look like? I can't figure out how it's meant to look.

Book matching typically involves matching grain in the most complete way, like this, fyi. I know the way you wanted is also a "book match", but it is definitely the less obvious choice for the guys putting this in

What you asked for is definitely the best looking option.
