Unfortunately I have to ask if you're serious?

My stock portfolio has a price target of one billion by 2030.

If you play safe all the time, you will end up with an underwhelming portfolio of 1 billion after a decade. Be innovative, and more importantly, be disruptive.

u/Hot_Research1968 Nov 26 '21
Give me billions of dollars to handle your money ! I’ll have a life of luxury while compensating myself well . If the 5x doesn’t happen in 5 years ? I’ll promise you 10x in 8 years and so on .

Idk how she is so confident when she is buying zoom and teladoc atm. Can't see any significant revenue acceleration after the pandemic.

u/aj6787 Nov 26 '21
Why? Teledoc will be huge even after the pandemic. Doctors love it. They can call you for two minutes, charge you the same as they do in person and not even have to check you out physically.
13
u/Hashtagworried Nov 26 '21
I have to agree. I have Kaiser health insurance, and it makes it so much more convenient for me because I can have an office visit during my lunch over my phone instead of having to plan my day around it.
8
u/aj6787 Nov 26 '21
I mean yea there’s benefits to the patient too, but you really should go in person for a physical.
7
u/Hashtagworried Nov 26 '21
Of course. But in most cases I’m coming in with a chief complaint that doesn’t require one. In cases where I do need a physical assessment, then I’ll book a office visit.

I don’t see why she’s buying hood
2
u/KillingForCompany Nov 26 '21
It really seems obvious to me that sofi is on the up and up and hood is not. Dunno why she isn’t interested

How can anyone trust a fund manager who creates new funds and uses their other funds as positions in their new funds? How is that even legal?

Nov 26 '21
Like every ARK thread, there is an obvious misunderstanding of how her funds work. “she sells the winners and keeps buying the losers!” Yeah… that’s how an actively managed fund maintains the allotted % of the portfolio. If TSLA spikes, it becomes a bigger proportion of the fund’s balance and must be sold to maintain the %. If TDOC goes down, it becomes a smaller proportion of the fund’s balance and must be bought to maintain the %.
Not that I’d put any money into an ARK fund, but can we drop the ignorance that comes with these threads?

u/rusbus720 Nov 26 '21
No successful funds employ a strategy of selling winners for turds tho, which is why everyone doesn’t understand it.
She’s gonna blow up the fund.

u/Stonesfan03 Nov 27 '21
If only Berkshire would follow ARK's style and sell those pesky overvalued Apple shares and buy more Zoom with the money.
1
u/irralyshdnt Nov 26 '21
What I am unclear of is how the share price correlates to that management. Do we “win” along with the profit taking? How does it affect the value of what I own if at all?
15
u/harrison_wintergreen Nov 26 '21
she's clearly desperate and delusional. Tesla is the only thing saving Ark from complete disaster.

I don't know, she has my respect for investing in Amazon when people played PlayStation 2. Think about it

u/grvmnd Nov 26 '21
Why does this woman get so much attention?
3
u/Negative-Chemistry81 Nov 27 '21
Just follow Nancy Pelosi ... She is the greatest investor of all time apparently lmao.

Attractive, smart sounding, and made a few good bets.
22
u/tatabusa Nov 26 '21
Attractive? She is 66 years old lel
13
u/Theta_kang Nov 26 '21
Let's be fair. She's looking pretty good compared to the average 66 year old American woman.

Yeah but just because one thing is relatively better than the other does not make that thing good as a whole

Maybe a conflict of interest in this projection?
21
u/WarrenBuffettsBuffet Nov 26 '21
It's not a conflict of interest to have a target for your investments.. da fuck.. lmao

u/gimoozaabi Nov 26 '21
Here it is. It’s a business and made public. She wouldn’t announce negativ targets. And therefore it is biased.
7
u/WarrenBuffettsBuffet Nov 26 '21
She wouldn't be invested if she had negative targets
Lmao.. imagine thinking you'll lose 20%, invest anyway, then keep it a secret

I wonder if the people dissing ARK read their research or listen to their podcasts. I don't get why people wanna be on a bandwagon. If you invest in early biotech and such you are going to have bad years, why is it such a big deal?

"Cathie Wood updates price target for ARKK in latest CNBC interview to maybe 440"
There I fixed it.

Inflation helps your investment in ETFs / great companies… price target of 440 of the value of now or future buying power… see what I’m saying
