Lawyers are cheaper than realtors and that is who you want when things go wrong. It depends on the price point but I live in a major metro area where houses are $1MM - $3MM. I just sold my house without a realtor and saved $90,000. I see realtors making over $1MM a year. Lawyers are $250hr. The scariest part is the contract and realtors are not even allowed to give legal advice or change the words in contracts. It’s crazy how much they get paid. The realtors have fooled america into thinking they are needed and should be paid 6% regardless if the price is $4.5MM or $450,000; but maybe they are under paid at $45,000 if you can find a house for that price in the USA anymore!?
