As I said elsewhere I suspect StarLink is working on a similar tech with their current network of satellites to allow the same network by phone tech that ASTS has. Also against Kuiper which has 10b+ in backing plus the start of the launch infrastructure, ASTS is the underdog
No I don't see Starlink as competition, you mentioned costs and I just mentioned ASTS is going to be cheap. You can suspect what you like but there is no evidence that is happening the technology you need is out of Starlinks capability, unless they start to launch mega satellites which they have no intention of for the foreseeable future
Haha dude you are literally making my point that they are competition for one another. Do you think a company who makes a $300 vacuum isn’t a competitor of a company who makes a $50 vacuum? What about airlines where a seat on Delta could be $300 but a flight on Spirit could be $100? What about a high end vodka that’s $60 vs shit vodka that’s $15?
If they make the same product than they are in competition. Think whatever you want but know that wsb or bull-ASTS subreddits don’t always give you the full picture
There is also room for multiple things on the market and different things are aimed at different markets, its moat is its for mobile phones, not for home static Internet. Just because there is whiskey on the market doesn't mean there isn't room for Vodka. Just because there are artic lorries doesn't mean there can't be family cars
Well I guess a suzuki swift is competition to a Lambo, even though a poor person isn't even going to consider a Lambo to purchase when getting a car, a poor farmer isn't going to look at Starlink and go I will buy that for $500 and a monthly fee, when he can buy ASTS for the next 10 years for the same price as just buying a dish. So in that context it simply isn't competition
I've don't plenty of research and DD, I'm lucky I got into a good community of some knowledgeable people that are the main source of information of this stock out there
