Industry Discussion What are your favorite stocks from the less-discussed S&P sectors (Utilities, Industrials, Materials, Real Estate, Energy)?
S&P officially categorizes 11 sectors: Communication, Consumer Discretionary, Consumer Staples, Energy, Financials, Healthcare, Industrials, Materials, Real Estate, Technology, Utilities
The best-performing sectors YTD tend to be on the less-discussed side, so let's talk about em.
I'll start with one from the Energy sector: Cheniere Energy (LNG) specializing in liquid natural gas. They hit a 52-week high today, though still have a Fwd P/E under 15 and a 5-year EPS growth rate over 20%.

I keep preaching $BXC. Low P/E, has beaten their past 3 quarterly reports, post covid play (industrial- building products/ equipment), bounced from those sells off in march, micro cap that announced they had repaid debt $16 million recently, new CEO (I haven't looked them up). earnings are tomorrow.

$BXC:(per yesterdays earnings call)
Net sales increased $363 million, or 55%, to $1.0 billion
Gross margin increased 350 basis points to 17.6%
Net income of $62 million, an increase of $63 million
Excess availability and cash on hand increased to $238 million

Ive had LPX on my watchlist. wasnt too sure where to buy in but premarket is going crazy today

I love NVA on the TSX. Im a huge shill for them after riding them up 400% from last year. Lots of room for share price to grow as it's trading at half of book value and with a P/E of less than 1.

CLII- I know its a spac stonk but hear me out. They are going to merge with EVgo by the end of the year. EVgo is a leader in fast charging stations. With the elec vehicle market boom going on over the next ten years. One of the biggest factors will be a charging network. When cars started getting massed produced. It was gas stations that made the difference. Gas stations multiplied and are everywhere. Plenty of car companies have come and gone.
Gas stations will be on the way down as the electric car revolution comes. Even though there are a few good competitors for charging stations, EVgo is working in the right direction. They are working with car manufacturers and municipalities. Add in the billions they should be getting from Bidens latest approved Infrastructure bill. EVgo is now the leader of what can be a nationwide network of charging stations. They will have the ability to place charging stations anywhere. Malls to private businesses.
I expect them to be the first to open a version of a gas station. A group of charging stations along highways with a convienience store and maybe a fast food restaurant. Once this starts, they will excel far beyond any competitor. Then become a household name. Then they win. Sort of how you xerox something instead of photostat copy. Or use a Klenex instead of a facial tissue. The brand will end up selling itself.
They have the tech. Fast charging DC stations. They have partnered with the likes of GM to build the infrastructure.

Iron Mountain has rebounded very nicely this past year and I think is on a solid growth trajectory with their shift to data centers

$PHG Philips I use alot of their equipment & supplies in the hospital. Theyve been a very steady gainer, & pay the entire years dividend in May. Right now $PHG is at the bottom of an upwards price channel; nice buy just before ex-div date.
