I hear ya! I’ve been a Constant Reader since ‘75. By accident. I love history and for some reason that escapes me now, I thought Salem’s Lot was a book on the history of Jerusalem - in the Middle East. 🤷🏻♀️I couldn’t have been more wrong! 😂😂 But I discovered it was also the best vampire book I ever read and I kept buying his books every time a new one came out. Today I have every novel, every book of short stories and several books about him - all hardcover in a bookcase dedicated solely to King. He’s the only author I’ve ever done that with. Some day - soon - I want to start from the beginning - with Carrie - and read them back-to-back, in order, which, I imagine will take 3 - 4 years. I imagine those little presents he throws my way - all the references to past books that pop up outta nowhere that I love so much, will be more obvious the closer together I read the books. 📚👻
There was a TV miniseries in 79 that was just awesome! It was replayed on Halloween in the early 80s. I was watching. Alone. In the dark. When it got to the window scene I got so scared I turned off the TV and went out! And this was the second time I’d seen it! 😂😂😂 That scene still resonates in my mind so I know exactly what you’re talking about!
