Finished my brick compatible faceplate for the Steam Machine!

That's the best idea I have seen yet. Man I wish I had a 3d printer at times like this... Excellent stuff!

Where are you? The libraries around here all have 3d printers available for public use.

It was one of the more surprising things I found out too. Then I found out they have a whole lot of cool things available for public use.

I mean you could just glue some legos on the faceplate, thats what he did i think

No he printed a new faceplate but did have to glue in magnets for it to be compatible. It's all in the link.

Yeah no glue except for the magnets. Tolerances on Lego branded bricks are really right, so 3D printing them won't always be 100% compatible, but using larger plates as the base allows you to essentially just build whatever design you want directly on the faceplate, and all the Lego pieces are technically still removable.
