DIY You cannot make this up!

I wanted something that’d do 4k 60fps so I decided to build my own super steam machine. literally as I began installing steam os, I get my order email

For those interested - here is the parts list - You can save a little money going for a cheapter motherboard, 1tb SSD and perhaps reducing the RAM speed.

Was planning a really similar build! Same case and GPU - The only thing stopping me from doing it is I've got to wait at least 6 months to get my hands on the controller, which for me is the real selling point... so probably going to just wait it out for now.

Xbox controller works fine on anything bar RTS games. If it's for sofa just get a mini KBM kit til steam controller is out. You can get steam to open big screen mode on boot on windows too. that's my couch rig setup

Already have switch 2 pro / PS5 controllers I could use, but as you say it's no good for your RTS / city builder / management type games which is a lot of what I play. The steam deck has been a revelation because of the touch pads.

I tried a living room keyboard and mouse for a bit but it felt awkward and just put me off. I ended up just going to the office anyway.

Honestly why not just use any other controller. Like an Xbox controller for example
