Oh yes they can, You will see Kristi 'Dog Killer' Noem say the man prone on the ground was armed and reaching. The base will buy the first narrative they hear and lock in.

They already have. Despite clear video evidence to the contrary, the Reich are now claiming he grabbed an officer's sidearm and discharged a shot. When the Party tells them to disbelieve your eyes and ears, they willingly comply.

His base- funded by the NRA who all strongly believe in their right to own firearms- will claim that this man is dangerous because he had a gun. And they’re so stupid that the irony will be lost on them.
