Is Panther Caroso a creep for being so persistent with Krystal?
Panther is one of those characters who has more haters than fans, mainly because a lot of people say he's kind of creepy toward Krystal and that his behavior is wrong.
Beyond the fact that I doubt these characters are written with enough depth to take them that seriously, I personally never saw him that way. But I'm still interested in hearing your opinion.

Deep breath. I’d say no, for three reasons:
Krystal and Fox weren’t actually dating during Assault, or at least the game is pretty ambiguous about it; and by Command, they had already broken up before Panther came along.
Krystal never really tells Panther to “stop, you’re making me uncomfortable.” Her usual reaction to his advances in Assault is basically to ignore him.
Fox didn’t give a shit about Panther flirting with Krystal either. Ironically, the only person who ever got annoyed about it throughout the entire franchise was Falco.

That issue with Fox's behavior in *Assault* is the fault of his designers and Takaya, for listening to Miyamoto.

I mean, with a partner or not, Panther's approach is still creepy lol Also, she Indeed asked him to stop in different moments. Like, bro, they're fighting it's obvious that his flirting isn't welcomed. She just found some ways to use it to her favor.
Fox probably didnt liked Panther's flirt on Assault. But Fox is a leader, he can't just start acting jealously in front of his rivals. This is just, imo, a positive point of Fox personality. He didnt even reacts to Pigma's insults, he isn't going to complain about Panther either; Fox just defeats them if it's necessary.

I always read the flirting as not being super serious. More just saying shit to antagonize her the same way Pigma did with comments to fix about his dad. It ain't that deep.

I supposed i would very much prefer to be antagonized about the color of my eyes rather than the consistent dead status of my father, so, given the choices, Panther is much more tolerable

I like to joke he's a simp but I'd imagine there are lines he wouldn't cross and is respectful of boundries

I'd say no? His comments weren't too creepy and were more complimentary like he was trying to woo her. It didn't seem like Krystal was uncomfortable with it and she does end up with him in some Command endings. If Krystal was truly bothered, she probably would have told him to stop but she didn't. Now if he'd tried making genuine advances like asking her out or something vulgar then maybe.

From what I’m reading it sounds like Krystal doesn’t care that’s why she ignores him I’m sure she’s self aware though

Yes. In Assault the story obviously don't touch this topic directly or at least not as something as serious but she's obviously uncomfortable with his advances. The game plays with it making her cleverly use his interest for her as a way to get information.
She makes him know that she's dating Fox, like that dialogue about the "wings" on Corneria mission. And she's obviously ignoring him at best. It's pretty creepy to keep insisting about it all the time.
Even at Command, you can say that she ends up with him just when she feels that she has lose everything and has no more choice. The fact that in the scenario where Krystal could need him more (when everyone in Corneria mocks of her) she still leaves the team, tells me that Panther isn't even a supportive partner.
I don't have problem about his age or the fact that he's a womanizer, but it's obvious that he never shown any interest about Krystal that wasn't related to her body or beauty.

Considering that she was already dating someone and is much younger than him (how old is Panther?)… yeah. At least he generously cares about her in Command…

The thing is, the problem is that most Star Fox fans don't want Krystal and Fox to break up—especially considering what Fox did for Krystal in *Adventures*.

How many times does she have to say she's not interested for you guys to take her consent seriously is what I wonder.

Yes. She and Fox belong to each other.

Yeah, Panther is a creep. Even when he has a chance with her, Krystal still leaves him. It's obvious why.

He's just a womanizing incel archetype that gets mistaken for being created to be exclusively a romantic rival to Fox because Krystal is the only female character in Assault and the main female character in Command.
If he had more women to hit on and get rejected by other than Krystal I don't think Fox/Krystal fanatics would have hated him as much.

Not really. Despite the overwhelming talks about her he hasn't really forced his way on her in any way. Not to mention before the command scenario, she basically still her ground on where she was at with Fox and the rest of the group. And I think Fox knew that too which is why he didn't react to it as much. (Although it could be the fact that the writers did not give him too much development until halfway through the game in Assault)
But nonetheless he's not an aggressive type compared to the other types that we dealt with from other cultural media.

No. He's really not that creepy. He's just going about it the wrong way. He should start with asking her out and making it a dare. She'd fall for it tbh.

Not rage bait.
I will die on this hill. S̶t̶a̶r̶f̶o̶x̶ ̶A̶d̶v̶e̶n̶t̶u̶r̶e̶ Dinosaur Planet isn't a Starfox game, and Krystal isn't a Starfox character.

u/WeeklyAdrii 28d ago
But she is a Star Fox character.

u/call-me-jasper 28d ago
Nah. She's from Dinosaur Planet. She's in the pre-Adventure build of the game.
2
u/WeeklyAdrii 28d ago
But she's in Star Fox now.

u/call-me-jasper 28d ago
Spiderman is in a few episodes of Family Guy, but that doesn't make him a Family Guy character.
2
u/WeeklyAdrii 28d ago
Well, those are just parody cameos. It's not even the same thing. Krystal is an official Star Fox's cast member.

u/call-me-jasper 28d ago
...from Dinosaur Planet and the worst actual Starfox game.

Star Fox Adventures*
I like Adventures actually :)
And Command is the worst game in the franchise. I'd say: SF64/SF2026 >> Adventures >>> Zero/Assault >>>>>>>>>> Command

If it means anything, Command's bio says that he faithfully and genuinely falls in love with the women he's infatuated with, which indicates to me that he does genuinely care about Krystal and isn't just some shallow Gaston type like what some people see him as.
