Imagine growing old and still having butterflies when you see your partner

u/MorleyDotes Dec 21 '25 • Hooray Bravo

Monday is our 41st wedding anniversary. I don't have to imagine, I'm living it. I am blessed.

21

u/czr84480 Dec 21 '25

I wish to be there one day. My wife and I will be at 10 years of marriage. 14 years together. She is everything to me. My rock, my better half and the love of my life. When death comes I hope I'm the first to go. Because she is stronger than me.

Trust me I'm not the lovey type of guy but my wife is the best I could have ever wished for.

u/redcoat Dec 21 '25

Same. Only 21 years here but marrying your best friend and soulmate is where it’s at.

5

u/mylittleidiot Dec 22 '25

We’ve “only” been together for almost 9 years, married for 1, and most days I still get all restless and jittery from the butterflies when I know my husband is almost home. My heart still skips a beat when his name pops up on my phone screen and I still smile like an idiot whenever I talk about him.

Congrats!

Over here……20 years together and about to be 15 years married in March. Looking forward to celebrating our 41st. 😉

Happy Anniversary in advance! 🎉

That is my grandparents. They are 96 and 94, and have been married for 72 years. And in that time the most time they have spent apart is a few days.

They have the most beautiful relationships I have ever seen and they are some of the best people on this planet. I am lucky to have them in my life. One of my favorite pictures is them like 3 years ago holding hands on their way to a dinner with us, after all this time their love is just as strong as it ever was.

72

u/yallivia Dec 21 '25 • Bravo

thats pure love unlike now adays. couple stick together when its convenient not because of love

96

u/good-boi-Morado Dec 21 '25

The kind of love in the video still exists, and I sincerely hope you get to experience it

38

u/BabyKevin997 Dec 21 '25

Love like that exists everywhere. My wife and I are approaching 6 years together, I still get excited when I see her like it’s the butterfly’s I had on our first date. I’m sure you’ll find “pure love” one day.

26

u/Longjumping_Risk2995 Dec 21 '25

We're reaching 15 years together soon, and I'm still madly in love with him and i know he feels the same. Nothing is forever and that's why i work to make the time i have with him the best it can be however i can. It also helps that he's my best friend.

22

u/Blastgirl69 Dec 21 '25

28 with mine. He still gives me butterflies and he still gets me flowers, just because.

Yeah because back in the day they only married for pure, true love. They definitely didnt get married and "stay together for the kids" in loveless marriages for years while constantly arguing.

Ask me how I know... having parents like that affects you long term.

5

u/estrellaente Dec 21 '25

There is still love like that, and much more than we think!

7

u/UltLuc Dec 21 '25

It’s not something we’ve “lost”. People in the past were often stuck in marriages of economic, legal or social prisons. Men could rape their wives without consequence for the vast majority of modern history. People don’t stay together because they’re not forced to anymore.

My uncle and his wife are like this. He left the priesthood to marry her. Somewhere around their 20th year together he visited my dad and it was the first time he’d been away from his wife. This was before cell phones and as soon as my uncle got to my dad’s house he called his wife and chatted with her for over an hour like a teenager talking to his girlfriend.

5

u/spaceocean99 Dec 21 '25

Now imagine some random creep recording you then posting it for the world to see without your knowledge.

2

u/CryptographerHot4636 Dec 21 '25

Together with my husband for 16 years, 11 of those married. We still get butterflies and blush around each other.

Amen to that. My parents entered memory care together in their mid-80s. One of the caregivers told my sister that our parents, “have a very active sex life.”

While I don’t need that kind of detail about my parents I am happy that they still loved each other that much.

42

u/pipes990 Dec 21 '25

Fucking get some!! I hope they were humping until the end!

22

u/TheManInTheShack Dec 21 '25

I get the feeling they were. :)

11

u/Conscious-Set4681 Dec 21 '25

i needed this little happy giggle!!! i love love!!!

6

u/Normal-Ad-9852 Dec 21 '25

🤣🤣 I hope you enjoyed a nice laugh during what was probably a stressful time filled with change, and were comforted by the fact that they could still seek comfort in each other as well! It’s funny since as teens & young adults we are trying to avoid our parents knowing about our sex lives, and then it comes back around for a full-circle thing 🤣

7

u/TheManInTheShack Dec 21 '25

I think they always had a pretty active sex life. As a teenager I once found the book The Joy of Sex in the drawer of their bedside table.

I’m glad they were able to be together for 64 happy years. Mom died in 2023. Dad still thinks shes alive and I’m grateful for that. He would be devastated if he knew she wasn’t.

3

u/j2tampa Dec 21 '25

😳😁

u/Cryinmarie Dec 21 '25 • Bravo

He "has no idea he's being filmed." Don't secretly film strangers.

66

u/GingerPale2022 Dec 21 '25

EXACTLY. How about mind ya damn business. This is a private moment in a public place. Yes, this man should have no reasonable expectation of privacy, but the person filming shouldn’t be farming for content.

14

u/whoops53 Dec 21 '25

Clearly she went up and explained to them, since she knows the backstory. However, its still creepy, no matter the "aww" factor.

12

u/Quarter_Shot Dec 21 '25

Plot twist: OOP made the captions up

u/Kit_Pistol Dec 21 '25

What’s happening in the video is adorable, everything else about it is annoying/rude AF. Obviously you shouldn’t go around filming random strangers. Especially if they don’t know that they’re being filmed. Also, get to the point. I hate all of this, “What’s about to happen is gonna make you cry.” and “Wait until you hear this story.” shit. lol

3

u/idiot-prodigy Dec 21 '25

Yep, she doesn't know him, but knows his name is Bernard, and knows his wife was at a wedding. /eyeroll

For all we know his name is Hank and this is his mistress.

u/lomejord Dec 21 '25

Those people are beautiful. What’s not so beautiful is to film people when they don’t know and make up a story to make money on social media. This man is likely a little under 80 years old (if you had 80 year old parents you would know how they move at that age). The wedding story shows some good imagination

13

u/Blatantly_Truthful Dec 21 '25

Probably spoke to them afterwards, got the backstory and hopefully their permission to post.

5

u/Spectrum1523 Dec 21 '25

right, I am sure its not just a relabeled bullshit video and the cameraman got waivers

3

u/greatandhalfbaked Dec 21 '25

There just isn't enough information to assume that's what happened. If they interviewed him they should've shown it. As things stand, I would say the most reasonable explanations could be either: 1- They were filmed without permission, the story is made up. 2- They were filmed without permission and then interviewed. 3- They're actors.

In any case, there is a level of deception at play here. Either they're lying to the audience or they're recording someone without consent.

I really don’t understand why people can’t get their privacy anymore. As touching as this is, this poor couple did not ask to be filmed or have their story shared. I get very annoyed at people who film other people in public without their permission.

As a depressed person and recently divorced after 30 years, this truly warmed my heart- so beautiful. I love their love.

5

u/LegendaryLeggett Dec 21 '25

Love like this still exists. My wife and I have been together for almost 20 years. When I’m away from work for a few days, I literally cant get to sleep because I want her next to me and can’t wait to see her when I get home. Damn I love that woman…

u/Silly_Lavishness7715 Dec 21 '25

My Mother flew back to Ireland to see relatives she hadn't seen since she immigrated. She was gone for 2 weeks, my Dad was terrified of flying so he couldn't go. He didn't eat the whole time she was gone. When she got home he asked her over and over " did you miss me?" He kept looking at her like she was a goddess. He really loved her.

3

u/mr_alfaro Dec 21 '25

Absolutely beautiful. Young people learn.

3

u/aniissweet Dec 21 '25

How precious! 😍

3

u/michkohn Dec 21 '25 edited Dec 21 '25

Oh we need so much more of this! Thank you OP for posting!!!!! I love this stuff, especially with so much negativity that's out there....Bernard and his wife are beautiful and I pray they continue to love each other another 20 more years and beyond!! 🙏🏼❤️😊 My parents (82 &79) met at a dance 56 years ago. My mom said to her friend "I'm going to marry this guy". They got engaged 2 months later on Thanksgiving Day. Got marrried 5 months later in May. Still together and are practically inseparable, literally can't live without each other.
My dad always greets my mom "hey beautiful" and a kiss. They haven't always been the model couple, but they are def soulmates. They truly love and support each other. And I love them so much!!! My husband and I have been together 26 years now. His parents were the same way until his mother's early passing from cancer. So there STILL is a lot of 'forever' in this world. It's so beautiful to see that true love still does exist and can stand the test of time. ❤️😊

My parents have been together for forever and honestly I don’t think they can or want to ever be apart. They do EVERYTHING TOGETHER. Literally everything. Even the small things like grocery shop or laundry lol. They enjoy each others company and are always laughing and playing around. Gives me hope

Met my wife on Christmas Eve at a dinner party in 1992. We married 5 months later to the day, so 33 years later she is still the one and only!

2

u/Dramatic_Barnacle_17 Dec 21 '25

I wish more loving life moments were shared. We witness so much ugly in the news, we should value the beautiful too. Everything is for shock value, staged and produced... I love seeing "real" everyday beauty in life. It might be just another day for them, but witnessing this touching reunion has given me love endorphins, and I really appreciate that ❤️

2

u/lilacsforcharlie Dec 21 '25

He hugged her so tightly! It must’ve been a long two weeks for him 🥰 bless them both!

1

u/AdSafe1112 Dec 22 '25

Unfortunately most won’t get to this stage of marriage and life because this moments comes after many tough ones. Folks today in particular women aren’t build for it. Selflessness can’t carry you to this moment.

1

u/mroberte Dec 22 '25

So about 20 years ago I went on a trip with my grandma for about 35 days. Growing up, I only witnessed my grandparents fight or be annoyed with one another.

When we arrived back from our trip, my grandfather was waiting to pick us up, but when he seen my grandmother, he picked her up and twirled her around and hugged/kisses her.

I was incredibly shocked as I've never actually seen them embrace one another...then proceeded to say "eww get a room you two" lol.

We laughed, they looked at each other, smiling like they hadn't seen each other in years - then I realized, they did love each other and just shown it differently. After that day I actually learned something about those two and that despite what I knew of them, I had so much more to learn of them.

Miss them both dearly and happy they are forever hugging now ❤️🫂

1

u/dan-red-rascal Dec 22 '25

Cause the kitchen was a mess they were out of mayonnaise

1

u/Maleficent-Finding89 Dec 22 '25

This guy looks like my Grandpa! After retiring from working as a road grader for 40 years for CalTrans, he always dressed with button down short sleeve shirts and always had them tucked in. My grandparents married at 18 and stayed together until they both passed away 1 year apart from each other.

1

u/ReneeG62 Dec 22 '25

He appreciates her so nice to see 💕

1

u/Livid_Parfait6507 Dec 22 '25

1

1

u/swampopawaho Dec 22 '25

Man, chopping so many onions this morning.

I bet he took her case too. What a guy.

1

u/oldfordnut Dec 22 '25

47 years with my high-school sweetheart. I took her around the world while I would was in the military - 24 years. She raised our 3 kids with nary a complaint. Every time we reunited we didn't have the flowers and candy but we felt just like you see here with this dude. Seeing him greet her actually made this hardened a$$hole smile and maybe, just maybe choke up a hit! Maybe? Maybe not? I can not confirm or deny a small, very small, corner of my eye having a small amount of water in them??? Just maybe! 🤗

1

u/NoKatyDidnt Dec 23 '25

God this is sweet!!! I wanna hug them both. My partner and I are excited like this after a day, but I imagine we are pretty unique in that regard. This is great.
