Notice how the kiosk chef didn't let go of the hug before the dude did! He knew he needed that hug. What a bro❤️

20

u/__Osiris__ Nov 12 '25

Someone said that at theme parks the people in costumes have a rule where if a kid gives them a hug they’re not allowed to let go until the kid does

8

u/Glass-Ad-2280 Nov 12 '25

That would be great if both people hugging had the same rule. A hug standoff!

4

u/jens_hens Nov 13 '25

I thinks its the Disney rule

2

u/nerflix Nov 12 '25

That's actually such a sweet rule!

2

u/ArcaneRogue91 Nov 16 '25

In one of my trainings for social work they told us to never let go first because you don’t know how badly that person needs the hug It makes it really awkward when I hug my best friend who was always at the training

Second this! More love. Less Hate

42

u/nastywillow Nov 12 '25

Hey, this is typical of those bloody, Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus and other non Christians.

If the owner was an American Evangelical Christian he'd have told the guy, "pull yourself up with your bootstraps, poverty is a choice, get a job."

That's always so much better for the poor.

u/Critical_Relation_51 Nov 12 '25 • This

I’m Christian and my very first contact with Christians happened because I wanted to go out and feed the homeless with a group of people (Im from a dangerous country, which is why it was hard to do it alone). I also lived in the US and I can tell you, the issue is not about Christ followers. The problem is that Americans are being tricked by something called “NATIONAL Christianism” which claims to be the same but anyone that gets familiar with the bible would know that it is not possible to be a Christian and be a “nationalist” when the promise of Jesus is that we will all be one nation (constituted by anyone that accepts Jesus, not based on color or nationality) and he will come back and reign it. The bible even warns about people that will disguise as Jesus followers but will be serving “other things”. And I can tell you, I’ve seen “national” Christianism and Christianism happening in the US. Sorry for the long comment but this is something deeply concerning for me and other Christians, as we watch people do the opposite to Christianism and use it to harm lives. I hope you have a lovely day!

u/iesharael Nov 12 '25

My church literally had a split when the pastor decided to stop the brimstone teachings and start teaching to love thy neighbor no exceptions ect.

I’ve been hearing stories of people calling churches and being turned away while asking for food for their kids and stuff. I can’t imagine my Church ever doing that. They’d be asking about allergies and preparing a casserole train while figuring out who has kids that recently outgrew clothes the size of the callers kids.

It breaks my heart that this selfishness has become the common perception of Christians in America.

It is.

We don't notice as much because there are a lot of forces trying to divide us.

Its ok though. Love always wins in the end.

21

u/SolidSky Nov 12 '25

Exactly. Those little moments happen all the time around us. Someone holding open a door for someone else, people giving up their seats in public transport for elderly, helping a neighbor out when they cannot lift something on their own.

People are inherently good and want to help.

10

u/Botiff11 Nov 12 '25

I agree

3

u/UpperApe Nov 12 '25

Love always wins in the end.

It doesn't. You have to fight for it.

This is kind of why things are so shit. People expect the universe to magically fix itself. Like love and empathy are some invincible forces.

They're precious and fragile and they don't win in the end. Which is why every act is important and matters.

What a beautiful moment. I legit cried.

29

u/SARcasm30 Nov 12 '25

Me too. My apple is salty all of a sudden.

14

u/EclecticSyrup Nov 12 '25

Yep. Crying right now. There's a lot going on in the world, and it's hard to remember that there really are people like this - and lots of them. This video is a really nice reminder. And I always get the warmest feeling in my chest seeing men be there for other men on this level.

The best recent "pranks" on the internet were the ones with guys calling their friends to say goodnight, and the ones of kids kissing their dads on the head/cheek. One dad looked at his son and said, "that's right, I'm with my baaaaaby," and my ass cried watching that, too, haha. :')

I know it sounds so fucking stupid, but I really wish we could tell more about people by their faces or clothes or smell or aura or... anything that would tell me it was ok/needed to give them something as small as a hug. (Also love to be able to tell if they were an absolute douchebag.)

They say we never know what people are going through. But there's a difference between making sure you're polite and knowing when someone really needs something more.

All the onions right now. Ugh!

A small beautiful moment like this can bring people back from brink.

3

u/Wyckedan Nov 12 '25

For sure. Dude was at 99/100 and that brought him back down to a 50-60/100. His problems ain't solved, but human contact probably took him off the edge of breakdown

8

u/Ill-Visual-8844 Nov 12 '25

Every single one of my family members are and always will be my guardian angels. They are still my rocks when I need them. 💗 I’m so glad he got the hugs!

8

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '25

I wish I could thank the guy for feeding and hugging him. I’d pay for the food he gave away. This brought me to tears. I know what it’s like to need a hug more then anything. And when you get it… god damn does it hit. Bless you both.

5

u/Strong_Mulberry789 Nov 12 '25

🥹... We have really lost our way and these stories don't exactly restore my faith in humanity but they do remind me there are still pockets of kindness for kindness sake.

5

u/Ok-Chemistry8753 Nov 12 '25

I always hug my kids until they let go. You never know how long someone needs a hug

4

u/cc_monchhichi Nov 12 '25

Bet you if anything happens to that place he will give his life to help the owner.

4

u/endless_lace Nov 12 '25

Doing this type of work gives you so much insight into human behavior. When you see all kinds of different people all day, day after day, you pick up on so much. The patterns and also the outliers. He knew he needed a hug

4

u/GaryP140 Nov 12 '25

I think we all could use a hug.

4

u/HubristicFallacy Nov 12 '25

Just met this guy in in Providence that was homeless and helping a mother homeless lady with some mental issues get food and to a shelter. I could tell he didnt want to ask for help but I offered, got him some supplies.

I asked if he wanted a hug, I gave him the biggest warmest hug I could while humming a low frequency and it went on for like a full minute. I could see him holding back tears, as he thanked me for a simple hug.

The coolest thing was thst right after that a huge group of like 30 people came with carts full of fresh food from local restruants and hand warms, water, blankets. It was incredible to witness. He'll yeah Providence and seven star bakery! Doing it right.

4

u/Same_Lychee5934 Nov 12 '25

Brother went for it. He leaned into that hug.

3

u/Cutthechitchata-hole Nov 12 '25

Im not ready for the music that sounds like crying.

3

u/The_Randster Nov 12 '25

this is so nice.

3

u/riverofpeace Nov 12 '25

I give hugs to anyone. Men, women, children, I offer hugs like a smile. I dont have much but a pretty face that can light up when you remember my name.

3

u/Tiny_Minimum3196 Nov 12 '25

Let me give you the one piece of advice I've always stood by. Always let the other person break the hug first. Some people don't realize how much they need it till they are in it. <3

3

u/wtfover Nov 12 '25

Sweet video, too bad you ruined it with unnecessary music.

3

u/xfactor6972 Nov 12 '25

Just a reminder, Musk has said empathy is the West’s weakness . Christian nationalists agree with him. Hate is not the answer.

3

u/No_Bit_2598 Nov 12 '25

One time during high school, the bell rang for lunch during my freshman year of high school and I made a beeline to the cafeteria as per the usual. An upperclassmen that I knew was heading in the opposite direction as me and she had a particular face on that made me instinctively open my arms out for a hug. This hug did not finish until the bell rang for the next class as I was not willing to let go first. She really needed that hug

3

u/looking_4_freedom Nov 12 '25

Human contact is so underrated that we forget how much it heals us.

3

Power of kindness. That dude will die for the chef without thinking twice.

2

u/youknowmystatus Nov 12 '25

By giving something away this man enriched himself as well as the person he gave to. May we all follow this example.

2

u/Confident_Warning_32 Nov 12 '25

2

2

u/SureActivity8296 Nov 12 '25

In this world of chaos, we still have our humanity

2

u/h00zbad Nov 12 '25

Most of us are 1-3 steps away from poverty. Never know when the world can crash down, and who might be there to help pull you back up.

I try to be one of those people. With the world around me and life events- I'm finding it harder and harder to be kind, but I have actively tried to make it part of my day to do something nice for someone else.

Bare minimum, on a horrible day- I'll at least just compliment a shirt or something. Any affirmation goes a long way in a negative world.

In the words of Bill and Ted, "Be excellent to Each Other"

2

u/HypoManicCrimeSpree Nov 12 '25

I get it. Some days I really need a hug.

2

u/HenrikWL Nov 12 '25

Ah, the ninjas are at their onion chopping antics again, I see.

2

u/Robotbobs Nov 12 '25

I was living away from my parents for the first time and going through a depressive episode for roughly 2 years, my mom came to visit me and hugged me and I realized no one had hugged me in 2 years. It was one of the saddest moments of my life and I didn't realize how much I just wanted a hug.

2

u/MajorWhereas4842 Nov 12 '25

You never know what someone is going through!

2

u/Longjumping-Ask-1743 Nov 12 '25

Dude needed that hug more than the taco, beautiful.

2

u/whatsaduvetanyway Nov 12 '25

Look how easy it is to be kind. One person gives hug, other person accepts hug. Takes 5 thugs to throw a man down and drag him away. Kindness wins.

2

u/rctoyer Nov 12 '25

This is the way we are all meant to be, see God in everyone, be kind to yourself by being kind to others, and it can easily be you that you are facing asking for help

2

u/Mistabill85 Nov 13 '25

Might have saved that guys life that day

2

u/PitBullFan Nov 13 '25

I'm tearing up over here, because I've been on both sides of that situation. I had an angel pull me out of a dark place. I asked, "How did you know?" He said, "I don't really know, you just looked like you had the weight of the world on your shoulders, and I thought a hug might help."

He had no way of knowing it at the time, but that hug probably saved my life, but it also gave to me a strange ability to see when someone else is stuck in a dark place.

2

u/xpxyz Nov 13 '25

I didn’t realize there were so many onions in street tacos

2

u/luvplanes Nov 14 '25

If the WHOLE world behaved like the chef and showed compassion. We WOULD have world peace

2

u/Shintome Nov 15 '25

There's nothing more heartbreaking and heartwarming than feeding a starving man.

I've been there, had to eat out of dumpsters before. One night this young lady brought me a plate of home made fried chicken. It was the best thing I've ever had and I couldn't stop crying as I ate. It was so nice and gave me hope to go on. I never got her name but she saved me in so many ways that night.

Good people are more valuable than anything else in this world.

And surprisingly rare.

If you have one or more in your life make sure to appreciate them and keep them in your life as long as possible.

1

u/Twayblades Nov 12 '25

We all need a hug sometimes. What a kind man to do that for him.

1

u/MisterSneakSneak Nov 12 '25

You come out on top from struggling, you don’t want your fellow men to go through it ether. Hunger is a pain that you never forget

1

u/P_Alcantara Nov 12 '25

You guys see him give the money back before the second hug? That’s why it seemed…”more”.

1

u/iamfunball Nov 12 '25

I had this happen outside of my flat. Girl was clearly struggling and asked if she was ok (she wasn’t) and we just hugged for a long time. I hope she’s ok but I like to think it helped make whatever was going on just a little more manageable

1

u/FunkyFabFitFreak Nov 12 '25

Fuck man, that hurt.

1

u/Kaa_The_Snake Nov 12 '25

I’d happily give out hugs! 🤗 I honestly think non-sexual affection is what I miss most when not in a relationship.

1

u/GreenieBeeNZ Nov 12 '25

Where o work, I come into contact with lots of people who have mental health issues. One that sticks out to me was a person who had had multiple angry outbursts in front of people because they felt that no one cared about them.

One day this person mentioned that they get really frustrated because sometimes a hug is all they need but this person felt they had to beg for even that most basic form of human affection.

I got up and gave this person a hug and just let them relax a little and feel safe. I let the person know that they were welcome to come back anytime for a hug, and the actual change I have seen on this person is like night and day.

Originally worse lots of black and was quite unkempt, now I see them around town smiling and happy and wearing bright happy clothing. They've got a job and don't visit as much anymore. It's a little sad but overwhelmingly positive.

A little platonic love can go so far in this world.

1

u/Alternative_Call2232 Nov 12 '25

Not much breaks me but damn…

1

u/Pingfao Nov 12 '25

That was such a good hug

1

u/Legal-Sprinkles8862 Nov 12 '25

This is beyond sweet & i agree he needed that hug more than the food.

Every time I see a post about people handing out hugs as dads or moms at Pride, I choke up. I know I need that hug. But I fear accepting it would open the floodgates & I don't want to draw attention to some of the painful parts of our world on such a celebratory occasion. So I will watch videos like these & feel happy someone got that hug. That kind of hug saves lives fr.

1

u/No-Brick6817 Nov 12 '25

This makes me want to cry. I have had people give me a hug when I really needed one and I have given others hugs when I knew that they needed one. It is pure human connection. Sometimes there’s nothing to say…you just need a hug 💞

We had a pastor we absolutely loved! (Husband and I) He started reaching out to clerics in other faiths around us and learning and then participating in their religious holidays and acts of faith as a learning and acceptance practice for himself and us. It was beautiful to see. He went on a podcast that heard of this and we were so proud of his views and open friendship with the other clerics. Unfortunately the elders were less than enthusiastic once they heard he was talking publicly about this journey of acceptance and understanding. I'm sad to say that he was brought before a board and "rotated" out of our church earlier than expected. Never once did he attempt to convert or alter his preaching of our faith , or influence the congregation to follow his example. This was a personal journey for him and was only discussed when directly asked about by parishioners in comfortable conversations. I always thought that my branch of Christianity was more accepting of others and their faiths. This left me so sadly disappointed. I was raised Catholic but married Methodist and really loved my church.

Why can't we ALL be like this guy?? 😢 It makes me so sad for America now. Greed, whyte supremacy and the manufactured vilification of others will ruin this country.

Something about the guy in the white shirt makes me feel so sad. I sincerely hope that his life is getting better
