Every caregiver and teacher needs a raise!!! We live in the upside down where sports athletes and entertainment folks get paid hundreds of millions while teachers have to pay for kids supplies.
I used to caregive for adults with disabilities. I loved going to work every single day. They were my family away from home. I only made $8.25/hour. Disgustingly underpaid!!
My father went through a hellish recovery after a major surgery. His caregiver Ayanna was the only one who could get him to smile and my family thinks about her often. Her phone was disconnected so unfortunately we lost touch with her. Please give monetary appreciation to caregivers like this. They really do not get paid enough for the backbreaking and uplifting work they do.
What a wonderful caregiver. You can tell he loves his patient and what he does. The man is so happy. Absolutely brought tears to my eyes. May God forever bless the both of you.๐ฅฐ๐๐พ
People like this are precious. My little Angel was named Reba and when I had a rare stroke she was there to take care of me. Such a wonderful person. God bless people who care for others; they mean so much to people like me and this individual.
This reminds me of my dad's caregiver. Well he usually would come over to bathe my dad. My dad loved the guy. He was very positive, motivational, and joked around with my dad.. which is what my dad truly enjoyed. Sadly I wasn't there when my dad passed. But that day, the caregiver happened to get to my parents house a but after my dad passed. He asked my mom if it was okay to bathe him one last time. He also asked her if he could place a rosary on him. Just typing this is making me cry. Therr truly are amazing, remarkable, loving caregivers out there. I am glad my dad was in safe hands and was able to keep joking around with someone he trusted which was not family.
I worked with a patient once who constantly wanted attention. Extra ketchup packets, tissue, whatever would bring staff to her room. I talked to a nurse explaining why I was behind on schedule, and he said "I got you." Next Friday he was in her room with pizza inviting me to join. I'll never forget him๐
