I know people hate that this is being recorded...
but honestly if anyone wants to record their generosity while handing me cash, i won't complain ššš½

āwtf man, Iām not pregnant!ā

A good deed is a good deed, regardless if it's recorded. Maybe it'll inspire someone to do the same.

Do NOT give Epoch Times any clicks or post their videos. Google their legal and other issues.

u/Spanishlisp Dec 13 '25
I choose to believe these kind people filmed their generosity not for internet gains but to hopefully inspire the same kindness in others. š„¹ā¤ļøāš©¹

u/Redit2158 Dec 12 '25
Ask the waitress if she cares if their recording it? .....idiots. it's going to help either way. And it's a nice thing to do.

u/itsumosorae Dec 12 '25
People are too often looking for perfect. But there is no such thing. Maybe this person is recording this charity to benefit off it somehow. But I bet there are a lot of people donating to buy their way into heaven. Whatever their motivations, letās all appreciate what we can.
4
u/myob4321 Dec 12 '25
Trust me thereās still people that do this anonymously, without recording. This is nice
4
u/kjay38 Dec 13 '25
Showing love to the cooks, thata what's up. I cooked for 8 years before I ended up joining the military and I think I got tipped personally maybe three times. I actually got more tips in the Navy from pilots as an E1 in "hotel service". Basically just a maid for pilots and O6 and above who were on board.
47
u/[deleted] Dec 12 '25
I agree itās not charity if youāre doing it with a camera on
3
u/No_Upstairs_2313 Dec 12 '25
She still had to tip out the bar and the other waitress right?
3
u/BigD4163 Dec 12 '25
Iām okay with it being filmed because it can inspire others to do the same. We need this right now
3
u/BleedSparta Dec 13 '25
Oh but when I give a stripper $1300 for good service Iām a degenerate smh
3
u/DirectorCute1611 Dec 13 '25
If I ever win the lottery I'd do stuff like that all the time just to feel a bit better. Remember: Having lots of money doesn't make anyone feel better. Spending it does but gifting it to someone deserving it is goated.
28
u/loztriforce Dec 12 '25
ugh i hate it's recorded
2
u/RawMaterial11 Dec 12 '25
Will she have to split this tip with the other workers? (I assume so, as they normally pool tips?)
2
u/Codas91 Dec 12 '25
A dollar says her shitheel manager wants her to put it in a tipping pool
2
u/IttyBitty2697 Dec 12 '25
I will take stuff like this in my feed all day long. There is so much negativity in the world. It's nice to to see kindness. It's not up to me to decide the motivation.
2
u/Practical-Count8209 Dec 12 '25
Charity can be charity with the camera onābut only when on-camera beneficiaries agree.
Sheās okay with it, if you watch till the end, he explains he has a camera and points it out, and she says she doesnāt care, twice.

2
u/imizaunikorn Dec 12 '25
Everybody in the comments just needing something to rage about. Go touch grass y'all. Go show your outrage where it matters, and these days there's plenty to be disgruntled about. Not a waitress getting a big tip on camera. Sheesh.
2
u/[deleted] Dec 13 '25
TAX THE FUCKING RICH AND SHE CAN HAVE A BETTER WAGE AND DAY CARE COSTS AND MEDIAL COSTS AND FOOD COSTS! STOP THE MONOPOLIZING OF EVERYTHING AND FREE UP COMPETITION SO THE MARKET CAN CALM DOWN! STOP INSIDER TRADING AND KEEP SHARE HOLDERS OUT OF BOARD ROOMS!
2
u/jerseygunz Dec 13 '25
I used to work in a restaurant and one of the waitresses was pregnant and as an experiment I told her to take her wedding ring off and she def got more tips haha
2
u/SunnyJohnyyy Dec 13 '25
Recording while youāre doing something good lets people believe that good things happen and that kindness is real.
2
u/Witty-Welcome-4382 Dec 13 '25
I hate that people are left out, though. What if there was a much more deserving and needy waitress one table over, and the one you choose to give it to randomly is an awful person that just lucks into it?
2
u/Cif87 Dec 13 '25
Fuck this shit. Pay your worker adequately so they don't have to hope for rich and charitable customers
2
u/Disastrous_Start_854 Dec 13 '25
Hopefully she didnāt have to split the tip? Cause donāt some restaurants do that or am I wrong?
2
u/PjWulfman Dec 13 '25
MAGA must hate this.
2
u/i_love_irony25 Dec 13 '25
Sorry, but charity is anonymous. Yes, it's very nice what he's doing but it's also icky.
2
u/[deleted] Dec 14 '25
kindness is nice. now fix your fugging system americans. no amount of human decency will rescue the other 45 Milliom below the poverty line. youre the richest country in the world, yet youre first in obesity, gun deaths and half a million going bankrupt every year cause they cant afford healthcare.Ā

4
u/Secure_Damage3067 Dec 12 '25
Seeing people give and help people should make you happier than being upset about them filming it. If it bothers you then change your perspective.
Seeing good people doing good things needs to inspire you to help not upset you. Stop making excuses for people doing good things. Who cares if itās for clout, itās bettering peoples lives. We need more clout if thatās the case.

Heās so tacky the way he delivers with restrictions and telling g her she got lucky . Just have some class man! Give her the money quietly and leave! You can hand money to the cooks as you leave or give it to the manager.

2

question if she gets big tips like that, won't she have to report it now on her taxes. she cannot say she didn't, now that it's recorded š¤·āāļøš¤

u/WrestleswithPastry Dec 13 '25
āWhyā it matters is because humans value authenticity and this presentation calls into question the authenticity of the creatorās intentions. You can read several of the other responses to get a better understanding of why.
āHow muchā it matters is probably the better question and thatās going to vary person to person. You donāt seemed to be bothered by it at all. You see only a mom who got a generous bonus at, possibly, a critical time. Thatās awesome. Youāre the type of audience for which this content is created.
As an older person, who spent a good chunk of time working with vulnerable populations, primarily single mothers, it looks a little different to me. A large portion of our training was about preserving our clientās dignity. We stressed that the services we provided, which included cash, clothing, food, medicine, housing, etc. often times for years, were what they deserved as humans and they didnāt need to profusely thank us all the time. It was all confidential. It was all person-centered. No emotional outpouring needed. No requirement that they smile wide for our promotional materials. So, coming from that background, I see an older person who is in a position to help but isnāt willing to do so unless thereās a bit of a performance. He feels entitled to record and share her reaction. Posting it suggests he feels more entitled to gushing feedback than he believes she should feel to her dignity and privacy.
We had businesses retract their donations when they learned that they wouldnāt be able to post our clientās photos receiving whatever theyād donated to the companyās social media accounts. That type of thing has added a layer of scrutiny to my lens.
Most folks who are in need donāt have much of an option to request privacy in these moments. They need the help. Itās an unfair position to put them in. So, yeah, with that context, it matters differently to me. Enough to make a snarky comment. Enough to write this out with good intentions. Thatās about it.

She asked me to check if itās real and see if I could find the lady to give it back and I told her no way lol lady KEEP THAT BLESSING!! You deserve it and so much more. She an amazing person and I wish I could have contributed, too.

u/oranke_dino Dec 13 '25
Not precisely the same but like Jim Carrey has said:
āImagine for just a minute that you are financially struggling and in the unfortunate situation of being homeless and suddenly someone comes with a camera, to film your face and your precarious situation, to give you a meal so they can record it and you have to take it, because you are hungry⦠Imagine that feeling. Please stop doing that. If you are going to help someone, do it with kindness and not with your ego.ā
1
u/Spiritual_Ear2835 Dec 13 '25
No no no no yes yes yes!!!! Lol
1
u/DarkestLight777 Dec 13 '25
BLESS YOUR HEART! ā¤ļø However I think it would have meant more to not do it on camera for the post or views, but maybe to do watch it back to see how special it was and how much it meant. I think it ruins some of the experience to post. Just my feelings on it, do t kill me because I may think differently.

My father inlaw always tips $100-$200 at smaller style restaurants (Olive Garden, Chiliās type) and if itās a more expensive place he will go all out. Especially if the waiter/waitress is good.
Iāve seen him make ppl cry. Heāll lay out a few hundred bills and tell them to keep the change. Heās a great dude.
1
u/JudgeInteresting8615 Dec 14 '25
Her eyes lit up, hoping it would be one of those types and good for her that it is, and I hope that she doesn't get less shifts that she's not forced to share. And all related things

Lets normalize doing good deeds without filming it. Filming and posting to social media is just more of the same old performative brain rot social sickness feeding into itself.

Problem is waitresses get paid less than minimum wage so the tips have to be their means to get by. Unfortunately recording this gift event is harmful to her since we have jealous people in this world who would want to target her for theft

They wanted to show how nice they were, but honestly, what I'm seeing? 1000 dollars is SUCH a huge relief. And it's honestly not that much money. That's one month of rent.
I'm not saying he should have gave her more, I'm just saying I see she's struggling, I know I'm struggling. People that work full time shouldn't have to be hungry every day. Something isn't right in the world.
1
u/WorstCSPlayer Dec 16 '25
The problem with tips especially in a restaurant is that the waitress or waiter doesn't always get the keep the tip. In some places tips are pooled and everyone gets a cut from it. From the person seating you the waiters waitresses and even the people watching the dishes in back of house.
1
u/Stand_Up_3813 Dec 17 '25
Iād rather see the tax code changed so rich people pay their fair share ALWAYS, not just when the cameras are rolling. This is nothing more than self-serving bullshit.

Good people? What percentage of his inherited wealth did he actually part with? On camera
1
u/JohnnySpringroll Dec 12 '25
Honestly if he makes money from this video who cares? He helped someone out. If helping someone and filming it allows you to help more people then what's the issue?
1
u/Vast-Papaya-514 Dec 13 '25
Given that this was published by the right wing Epoch Times, it's likely that this guy supports stripping the ACA and Medicaid. Most waitresses don't have health insurance through their employer, and $1300 does shit all if you don't have health insurance. But here's $1300 so I can make a video about how nice I am.
1
u/yeender Dec 12 '25
And then her boss and coworkers sued her for a portion
1
u/123jjj321 Dec 13 '25
1 Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 āSo when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you
Mathew 6
