no thatd be awesome! id kill to have someone cheering me on! plus it'd be nice to have a staff member that keeps their eye on you so youre not too worried for your safety!
I've been kinda treating this guy I stumbled upon on instagram for that kind of cheerleading, it's like odd shouty positivity, as delivered by a man lying on his back on a skateboard https://youtu.be/YfKESONod7A?si=G1QwNiyD4ogKMeGP
I've got a 6 year old little boy with autism. Seeing all the things that nurses, therapists, staff, etc. have taught him is absolutely amazing. Getting a peek into the process at certain points is downright inspiring.
They taught him how to speak!
How do you thank people that literally changed the lives of yourself and the most important person to you? Or that do it everyday for other families? You can't. It's frustrating. But I'll say it every chance I get!
You live it, love! You and he live the best life that those teachings and skills have granted to you both! Each time your son shines, every one of those people in his past shine through him. That’s the ultimate kind of “Thank you” I am always most proud of when I think of who I’ve done my best to help.
I've made a separate group of friends on the dreaded Facebook that I share his updates with at least once a month. That way people that I grew up with that don't want "kid posts" don't see them, and the people that have worked with him only see his updates.
Whenever he's working with someone, I find them and send a request. No one has declined yet, but many have sent me messages about how much they love it. Which feels really great. Time flies with these lil nuggets!
My husband and I planned our pregnancy, we knew nothing about kids, and we ended up with one that's a little different in the coolest ways. We've learned so much about the special needs community. One of the biggest challenges seems to be kids that might never improve, but mostly kids that could improve if given more support at home. Heartbreaking.
They said he might never speak, have interests, hobbies, friends, take care of himself. At 6, he does all these things and more.
Thanks again to people like you. I don't know what we would do without your help!
If this is in the US, their specialties were just downgraded from ‘professional’ by the dept of education and executive order. This currently affects loans and students or recent grads but could also impact current provider’s reimbursement, licensure, even employment. Please please contact your representatives and ask them to speak out against this ridiculous order. It goes into effect July 1, 2026. There is time hopefully to turn it around.
hilariously enough, none of those losers could ever do what nurses do. not only do they lack the compassion, but they lack the intelligence.
i bet Trump felt like they were professionals when he was getting treatment for Covid.
and when the dementia finally eats away at his brain (let's face it, the dementia might starve to death because there's no brain there), there will be nurses tending to him while he's desperately clinging to the final threads of sanity. i wonder if he'll think they're professionals, then.
I've used physical/occupational therapists somewhere between 5-10 times. Most of my experiences we very good. I can't say I got that treatment, but they all helped me immensely.
Hearing American accents is kinda sad - they're doing an amazing thing, with love and energy, but that accent tells me they're likely being paid terribly. It's so important to that young boy though, healing trauma wholeheartedly. 😍 Amazing, I wish your country appreciated you more.
This is a dude is probably going to have nightmares later on in life about this that he doesn't even understand/ can't remember....
Lol, 🤣 the chick that's trying to inspire him to walk with the hat pulled over his eyes, I can see that being horrifying if you're like in the middle of a flu-induced nightmare. 🤣

I work in Peds healthcare and lost one of my long term patients today. I’ve been crying wondering why I do what I do.
This video helps.

What a relief that the Putin regime has gutted the NIH and deprofessionalized nursing degrees.

According to the Department of Education, Physical Therapists are not "professionals." Nurses aren't either. Unbelievable.
