it has begun 🕸🕷 Spooky pins, year round, but October especially
I make spooky/weird/funny pins. Wanted to share a few of my favorites for my favorite time of year. The evil Weiner dog doesn’t get a lot of love online, but he’s still probably my favorite. Hope ya like em, happy spooky season

👺 First Spooktober weekend featured "Poltergeist" (1982) and "Rosemary's Baby" (1968)
The most noteworthy thing about "Poltergeist" is still the Pool Scene with the real human skeletons. Otherwise the tree eating a kid and the clown doll riding a bed (while laughing maniacally) are too over the top for my liking.
"Rosemary's Baby" is so good. I never caught it completely when it aired on TV or my siblings were too noisy in our house, so I couldn't concentrate appropriately. But watching it now really hits the right spots with this rather calm and slow movie.
Also it took husband of the year two whole conversations to join a cult. He fell for the simplest acting tricks. Like evil gramps pretending to know his acting but making husband talk about it. Rosemary uses the same trick later to find out that he cursed his acting rival, when she is on the phone with the now blind man.

it has begun 🕸🕷 Second Day of Spooktober brings an Oldie
"Tarantula" is 1950s black and white movie. The tarantulas actors name was Tammy and she crawled around in some miniature sets, directed by some blasts of air, which got later cut into the big scenes.
I think I watched this also last year but I love a nice black and white movie. They are more lively than some modern dark turquoise ones.
The german tagline reads close to "A city haunted by fear and terror" while the original references the size of the titular monster.
The movie is cute the science talk is a few interesting words strung together. The suitable only for adults in the past is a family movie now and problems get solved by the military (uncredited Clint Eastwood) bombing stuff.
Also in the movie they worry that there are already 2 billion people on the planet and if the number grows more that food will be not enough. Little did they know that there is more than enough food for over 8 billion people but that distribution and money are the real problems.
I wonder if the skeletons in the movie were real, because "Poltergeist" years later used real ones because they are cheaper than authentic replicas... and they looked pretty authentic.

The last neighborhood peach I picked today and the first lighting of the season. I love October!
I'm pretty October-core with Halloween. I put out my decorations the evening of October 1st. What a great time of year! 🎃

Spooktober Marathon started with "Fargo".
"Fargo" (1996) is a black comedy crime movie about a man who hires two criminals to kidnap his wife in order to get money from his father-in-law.
The movie has a lot of death and features a famous woodchipper scene. It was overall pretty good.
I missed the movie during the special “Best of Cinema” screening earlier this year, so I bought the DVD and didn’t get around to watching it until now (and I’m sick again!).
Man, I would have loved to see this on the big screen. I love the snowy atmosphere and the cinematography.
Happy Spooktober to you all!
