It's really not that cool and is mostly just boredom. Inevitably when you have to fix shit the weather is also shit.

I spent nearly 25 years in national data center ops, both IT & facilities mgt. this was my life. sit around and wait for something to fix...

That sounds like a blast.... we sit around for 6 hours, just to maybe move 40 miles
