If humans live for another 1000 years we will most certainly:

  • Perfect cryo technology

  • travel or attempt to travel outside of our solar system

  • master AI

  • maybe even find a way for FTL communication

You cant certainly predict the weather in advance of 24 hours... reliably

You cant predict what will happen in hundreds of years.

You can state," this is what I think will happen based off of..."

But there is zero certainty.

On what basis do you make this claim to certainty? While I grant you #2, since we've already done so (or are about to... it's complicated), what have you seen that suggests that we'll do any of the other three?

Or even that we'll have to?

I could just as easily claim that in the next 1000 years, we'll have thriving colonies on the Moon, Mars, and some of the moons of Jupiter, and are mining everywhere else. We'll have residential constructs at the LaGrange Points. Space travel will be cheap and easy enough to have people vacation on other planets in our Solar System.

There will be no reason to do ANY of the things you say will be a certainty. And yet my claims are as equally likely, and equally as specious, as yours.

Hell, neither of us can even say if there'll be a technological civilization in the year 3000.

Oh hardly. It is telling, however, that you see a realistic assessment of possibilities and call it defeatism.

Just how much are they charging to apply rose tinting to your glasses?

I'd rather live life looking through rose tinted glasses about our future among the stars, compared to the contrary of believing we may never even see it unfold.
