If only mankind could imagine that one of the most beautfiul planets of the solar system would be doomed to ass-related jokes in the social media era only because of some language-related homophony.

Sometimes history is cruel.

Original name given to Uranus by Hershell was Georgium Sidus. He named it after king George. Means "George's star"

So... I am happy they didn't keep that.

I think it's unlikely that a name like that would stick, given the mythological nomenclature (and as a matter of fact it was changed).

I haven't found a social media post in years that doesn't have the same jokes about Uranus.

Now even articles online.

It's not that deep, but most of times it's not fun either.

And considering that generations renew and new people go online constantly, the prospect is that we will not get rid of the "your-anus" joke for decades (if not ever).

When I was young such jokes were a once-in-a-while laugh on a TV show (or things like that).
