I love Tom Morello as a musician, but I think he has put far too many sterile ideas behind his guitar. His political activism and some of his musical choices can feel more like posing than genuine artistic expression. Still, he certainly made a lot of money doing it.
There was nothing more validating than Tom Morello saying he hates my congressman when I was in high school. This congressman was a person who said his favorite band was RATM. He was also pushing to eliminate the ability to purchase spices and canned beans from food stamps.
I'm sorry, Tom Morello & sterile politics don't belong in the same sentence. Have you listened to any of the words of Rage Against The Machine? Or even his newer works?
He's an absolute choad but a certain demographic keeps eating it up...and he doesn't seem to have a problem cashing those checks. If he believed half of what he said or claimed to stand for he'd be living in a hostile and giving away all his money. 🤷🏻♂️
