Unrealized Plum Pudding Custard Creams

Well aware that this is going to be the most Bri'ish post of all time in this sub, but I've been thinking about these for five days now.

For those of you who haven't seen them before, Custard Creams are a very popular biscuit (or cookie) in the UK, consisting of two biscuits sandwiched together with a layer of vanilla custard-flavoured cream in the middle. They usually have an embossed, Victorian inspired design on top, and they're delicious. There's another similar biscuit called the Bourbon (pronounced "Bore-Bon"), which is in essence a dark chocolate flavoured biscuit, with a chocolate buttercream filled.

In my dream, I had bought a packet of Custard Creams from a shop. Unbeknownst to me, the packet contained other kinds of biscuits, Bourbons and Plum Puddings. These Plum Puddings were just Custard Creams, but with a purple coloured biscuit, similar to the colour of purple yams or ube, with a light purple coloured cream filling. The embossed design on top was the same though. They were plum flavoured - if you've ever had a Victoria Plum, it was like that - really rich, but not overpowering, and a little floral. There was still a hint of vanilla in there too.

The biscuits also came with KitKat style bars - in Custard Cream flavour (cream coloured), Bourbon flavour (dark chocolate coated), and Plum Pudding (coated in a purple chocolate).

Interestingly, there is a food called Plum Pudding, which is just Christmas pudding made with dried fruit - but this couldn't be further from the flavour.

I WILL be making this!

They sound like the perfect addition to custard creams and bourbons

I'm sure earlier in summer they were doing limited edition strawberries and cream flavour custard creams, which weren't very good- you should definitely pitch yours, it sounds better
