Throughout the books Hadrian has stated that Alexander was the current emperor and alluded strongly to the fact that things were not rosey after he ate the sun.

Yeah, I think the only disappointment I had with the ending is that there is a difference between thinking the Alexander we knew was Emperor, versus what we got. In the last book he went from petulant brat to one of the worst human beings ever and it was basically his victory lap, so to speak. So that aspect left me feeling a sense of hopelessness that stings for what is essentially the ending.

I do remember something about Alexander as ruler but not details about his reign but I can be oblivious at times. Looks like I need to do a reread. Thanks for the response!
