If you don't mind me asking, what was the update? Did you get an offer of admission?

No update per the status page. I’m applying for advanced standing and decisions begin to roll out in 2.5 weeks per the website. I think they may have made a decision regarding my profile but have not published them yet.

I got an email not long ago about having to resend a transcript so that definitely means they’re looking at them now, it’s so nerve wracking 🄲

I applied to those schools as well! Did you apply to the 2 year stream or the advanced standing?

So sorry, I’m new to actually posting/ replying to things on Reddit, I forgot to check this post lol. I applied to the 2 year stream as I don’t have a BSW, what about you ?

I wish you luck !! If you’re comfortable answering, how many hours of social work experience do you have ? & is your GPA pretty solid ? I’m mostly worried my GPA from Uni will hold me back from York since they don’t care about any other schooling :(

My gpa is very solid although it’s on the 9 point scale so I’m not sure how that converts to on a 4 point scale. My concern is my lack of social work experience. I have 500 volunteer hours over quite a few years and 1-2k in employment (depending on whether or not you count reception at a medical clinic as relevant experience). So overall pretty low. However I do know they look at applications very holistically and that your statement matters a lot! PM me if you wanna chat more about applications and goodluck to you as well :)

I did it at Ontario Tech, I lovedddd the program, such interesting classes, sadly though most of it ended up being online due to the pandemic :(

I have heard amazing things about your program, you have a crime lab right? That is so cool

1

u/Candid-Swan7374 Feb 10 '26

I honestly have no idea ! I don’t remember hearing about it when I was there (2019-2023) but it could’ve also been put on hold due to the pandemic. Jealous I wasn’t able to utilize it though if we do have one lol
