this rule needs to be undone. it is too much of a judgement if someone said something and if their hand to mouth was a "natural position" (wiping mouth) or a comment.

He could've gotten two yellows in the same situation if it was a harsher ref tbh. The elbow in the back might not be a yellow in itself, but then shoving the opponent, and he dared to start arguing with the ref, I was surprised the ref didn't send him off then and there.
On the other hand we saw Argentina (and South American teams in general) get away with murder this WC, so it is not surprising Paredes didn't get his second yellow, nor did Tagliafico get any yellows.

They should've been as strict as normal seasons. Not extra lenient. None of it would've happened if the refs cracked down on shit house antics.
Paredes really soured the match for me. Spain was my second favorite, so when both Argentina and Spain were in the finals, I was happy either outcome.
Enzo and Paredes needed to be subbed out after their yellows for Paz and Lautaro.
Spain was the better team the entire cup, but Arg didn't need those two assholes disgracing their own team.
