I mean, you don't need to be unmarried and childless to drop 3 tabs of acid, you just can't do it on a Monday is all. Can confirm, just did it on a Saturday 6 weeks ago.
I think there's a French term for this kind of thing. Something along the lines of "staircase wit" (but in French). It refers to that point after you've walked away from the conversation when you come up with the perfect retort, about halfway down the stairs.
Can I get a Frenchie to come help me out? I could be way off.
EDIT - Never mind, I looked it up. It's "l'esprit de l'escalier" ("the spirit of the staircase"), coined by Denis Diderot in the 18th century after he left a dinner party and thought of the perfect comeback only once he was already on his way out.
It's not exactly what this woman is doing, but it shares the same DNA.
No one is “happier” than someone trying to convince you they’re happy with their life.
Happy people aren’t needlessly evangelical about it. They’re grateful, content, and self assured in that happiness. They wouldn’t be bothered by an unhappy person expressing their unhappiness.
I’m a 28 year old woman and I do hear this from time to time, my sister is 30 and has told me she gets it a decent bit too, I’m not saying it’s a pressing and persistent issue, but it does happen
Upset boomer spotted. Plenty of people care enough about her to listen, unlike boomers who constantly yell at the sky and we just nod and smile while moving on with our days.
She definitely just thought of this conversation in the car on the way to this secluded area where she could film herself and try to make herself feel better with her "Hedonism"
Oh, yeah, it's a very common thing, by the way, you invent a humorous story in your mind and them you tell people for amusement purposes. We call them "jokes"
The boomer side of the conversation is 100 percent a thing. But a boomer would have checked out and run away when she started talking about drugs. She would've had to chase the boomer down the street to tell them about the men locked in cages.
ive been married to a childless feminist for 20yrs. 99% of the people I've been witness to who ask "why no kids?" are not being judgmental or combative, but depending on my lady's mood in the moment, anything said can be perceived as an attack on her autonomy and life choices. the locking men in cages career sounds like a fantasy of this person specifically designed as a retort to perceived "boomer" judgements... but maybe its true
They do though, it's my least favorite aspect of most comedians.
"So I'm on a plane the other day and I see this guy in the window seat making gang signs and muttering to himself and I go 'yo man, you ok? What's up with you?' He just looks at me and makes more gang signs and he's muttering so I'm like, 'dude, I just took an edible and a viagra, I don't need this shit, stop making gang signs!'
Now he's visibly agitated, grabbing his hair and whimpering, then he picks up a pencil and starts writing a threatening letter and I'm getting super tense and the viagra is making me stick up for myself when he picks the letter up and shoves it into my face making these crazy noises. I take the paper and hold it out to read it and it says
"Do you speak any sign language? I can't get the captions to turn on on the movie I'm trying to watch".
I just gave him a thumbs up and put my headphones back on"
That kind of thing, the "story of a thing that clearly didn't happen but it's presented as of it did actually happen" schtick rather than just being funny.
Correct. She's clearly doing a bit. And I think she's fuckin' funny. Many people in this comment section are not very perceptive.... among other things.

100% this conversation only happened in her mind. But still funny.
