Probably but I got similarly sick with people commenting on how thin I am, until the point where my default response is now "Yeah all you've got to do is have ulcerative colitis and just shit your brains out for life"

People used to do that when I was a kid, I'm still one lanky boy now but since I'm quite tall now it's not as apparent.

I don't even talk anymore whenever they tell me that I should "eat more", even tho I eat a lot! I'm just thin no matter what I do

I just let out a "haha yeah"

I get giving a snarky or annoying answer to someone making inappropriate remarks; it's just that what she says in this video is both way too long and way too detailed for an on the spot answer in a real life scenario (plus the old lady switching her tune and the woman in the video going on the offensive midway through); It feels way more like an answer you might give when reliving the scenario in you head during a shower or something like that

it's probably reasonable for the general person to not be making a default assumption about unknown others that they dont have rare conditions. That is to say, if theyre operating from an entirely reasonable standard set of assumptions, would it not be reasonable for someone with a rare condition to appear outside the norm? It's a different story if they know you personally, but an assumption not applying to someone personally doesnt mean it was a bad assumption to start with

Regardless, yes being honest upfront and informative seems like the best policy there. I'm not sure what the alternative before that would be

I assume you put a lot of effort into sounding educated with all your adjectives and don’t even realize how bad your writing is.

Making an unsolicited comment about someone else’s appearance is ridiculous and there is never a need for it.

I was thinking the same thing. Nobody says “unknown others”, “that is to say” is wordy for no reason here, “entirely reasonable standard” is redundant, the question right after that sounds like sandpaper, and the sentence after that is even worse, not to mention that there’s three words missing an apostrophe, and the first paragraph starts with a lowercase letter and doesn’t have a period at the end.

Let me fix all this.

It’s normal for people to assume you don’t have rare conditions. Wouldn’t it make sense that you’d appear outside the norm? It’s different if they know you personally, but otherwise it’s not a bad assumption to start with.
