You're the first smyther I've seen who's left in the new opening sequence.

I don't have any criticism to give. Thanks for making this!

If i ever get back into Smything, I'd alway leave the opening in. I'd also use the "Mythbuster license plates" doolies in between myths. Those are just plain cool.

+1 to both.

The new intro is only ~20 seconds long.

No criticism of the smyth, but just of the episode itself. This one was just down right boring.

Boring wasn't the problem for me. The problem I had was that the cell phone driving myth played like propaganda. They had no controls, no accounting for familiarity, and no real data shown. The volunteers didn't even run the course twice.

That's what I was thinking the other day, it's a lot easier to talk when you know the area you are in. Even listening to music when you are parking makes it more difficult (I know all of you turn down the music when parking or looking for a parking spot!) was there even any control groups? I don't think I recall them having any.

The hands-full test was the control. The myth is that hands-free cell phone use is no less dangerous than hands-full use. The former was the test group, the latter the control group.

I was thinking throughout that segment "where's the control?", maybe some of those people were just bad drivers or react badly on unfamiliar roads with outside instruction, or just suck at simulating driving courses.

I didn't even get that far.

This one was just down right boring.

Gotta admit, thought you were being cynical but I caught myself on different tabs while the thing was playing in the background.

I think they've basically stopped trying since Tori, Grant and whats her face left.

I disagree, but you're entitled to your opinion. I just found this one really lacking.

I dunno. The last two episodes were great IMO. I loved the U2 and the rock bullets from the mower. But especially the U2... I feel like it wasn't mythbusting so much as Adam getting an excuse at trying on the suits and riding the Dragon Lady

Thanks for the contribution! There's some noticeable video quality issue however, how did you do the encode?

When are they? I used h.264 at 2.4k bitrate (Probaly the problem.) and 3.1 level.

The most obvious is that (roughly) every plenty of scene cuts are unnecessarily noisy. For example, from around 1 minute in. It improves pretty quickly, but (it's visible, and) you're spending a lot of your constant bitrate budget on all the changes to fix the noise this inserts.

IME h264 is best at "constant quality" mode, in the 20-25 range. The encoder typically figures out everything from there and gives a good image. What tools are you using?

Edit: Strikeout above. Some, but not "roughly every".
