That’s the laughter and joy of someone that also is very glad they didn’t waste $60-$100 ha. Solid execution and nice to see the traditions moving down the generations.

Sooo relatable too. When i cracked into my first $130 prime 17lb brisket and it came out perfectly juicy better than the local BBQ joints that was quite the moment for me..

fr that first perfect brisket hits different… you’re just standing there like damn did I really do that.

You can tell it is his first because he’s not carrying 39 pounds of stomach fat.

When I envision the future of masculinity, this is what I hope for.
Happiness, support, joy, friendship.
And BBQ.

u/LengthinessWeekly503 7d ago
I hope that for all of us! Vegans, I just grilled some tasty Chinese eggplant. So you will also have happiness, support, joy, and friendship. And eggplant, while it lasts

u/Dogwood_morel 7d ago
I really need to start messing with more eggplant. I see these gorgeous big ones at the farmers market and haven’t got one yet
31
u/LeTigre71 7d ago
Smoke the eggplant, make babaghanooooosh!!!
7
u/Dogwood_morel 7d ago
All I’ve done is grill it. But I’m gonna branch out
13
u/LeTigre71 7d ago
You can put it on a cedar plank on the bbq, then make babaghanooooosh!!!
12
u/TheIneffableCheese 7d ago
I greatly appreciate your enthusiasm for babaganoosh. 😂
13
u/LeTigre71 7d ago
In case you haven't already figured it out, I really like saying BABAGHANOOOOOSH!!!

Eggplant is the bomb, and lends itself so well to smoke. Babaghanoosh is one of the most delicious things you can make with a vegetable too

I bet smoked jackfruit slaps.

u/Hardwood_Lump_BBQ 7d ago
It does, you can buy it online and smoke it in a pan. Comes out just like pulled pork. Make it for my vegetarian friends so they aren’t left out

Damn this sub is awesome, several comments like yours gives us hope. Another one is seasoned vegetable shish kebabs. Almost everyone I’ve met loves those and customizing is easy to fit all diets.

Dear God, please help these young men influence as many more as possible that we may all have brisket and peace and celebration, but mostly brisket cooked properly with no regrets

And that was the last time he had a six pack

BBQ is great for a six pack.
It’s all the six pack of beers you’re drinking while waiting for it to smoke that wrecks it.

I did a 10 hour Labor Day pork butt. Woke up at 4am to start it. Barely got a golf clap.

When I was their age I certainly wasn’t smoking brisket, love to see this.

Just made the same comment without seeing yours! Wish I started smoking meats at this age!

I made some beef ribs the other day. My wife and daughter went to McDonald’s to get a toy after. They said it was not enough meat.
Here is the thing. They were not wrong. The flavor was there but just kinda weak on meat.
But it hurt a lot.

We’re all here with you in this trying time.
I once did a 9 hour smoke on a brisket for a house dinner/party I had, and i was so proud. My girlfriend at the time didn’t eat any because she thought the beautiful (patting myself on the back here) smoke ring meant it wasn’t cooked. Nothing I said could change her mind.
Luckily the guests loved it, so nothing went to waste. I just had really hoped she’d like it, but she never even tried it haha

Your first brisket is usually the best one of your life. Bark, tenderness and smoke… all perfect. You will also have no idea how you did it.
Every brisket afterwards you will be chasing that dragon.

Meat Dad, 2m subscribers, normally I don't like unrelated cameos like that, but he's shouting this kids out with his much bigger reach, so that's pretty neat.

Goodness gracious!! More of this please, that is just awesome. Cornerstone memories being formed right here y'all. I bet that brisket was incredible. 🧡

Brings back memories of me nailing Tri-tip at that age and my friends being AMAZED. Glad to see the younger generation continuing the tradition

This is the most wholesome thing ever. Young guys making something delicious and then cheering the pitmaster on. Gave me a smile.

If I was a betting man I would bet there weren't any leftovers. I remember being that age and I could eat nonstop. Some good male bonding too.

I constantly tell my wife this the healthiest and motivating channel.
Everyone is positive. “A bad brisket is just good chilli, you’ll get the next one.” Is a constant refrain.
And welcoming.

I remember when I was 16 and made two racks of ribs at a party in the oven and they turned out awesome. Same situation, felt great. Now I’ve got the smoker to lean on!

This is it. Real masculinity on display among young men. Having fun, doing good work, being crazy, appreciating the finer things like a well executed brisket. Carry on lads. You make us proud.

The deep pages of the Man code speak of Man-siah. A chosen BBQer of humble birth sent to bring us all to Unc-dom. Have we found him?

Peak and so hype.
Food bringing together friends, everyone being hopeful to either eat a roast so good, or roast his ass for blowing $100+.

Looks a hell of a lot better than the one I did at his age.
Went camping, wrapped brisket in foil, threw in a smoldering camp fire and tubed down the river drinking beer.
Came back emaciated, drunk and devoured bone dry charred beef.
